That's an exquisite dress. Thanks for the education - I love learning stuff like this.
At first glance, you know right away you are looking at something special.

WOW. You look like a million bucks.. you're such a doll too!

You know, it's like those mastercard commercials. Shoes: $35, Dress: $600, how you look and feel in dress; PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!:eusa_clap

HEY WHAT'S THAT OVER THERE

...sneaks off with dress....
Taps Miss Bella on the shoulder, she turns around to ask what's up, Daisy grabs dress and runs for her life!!:D

Congrats Grace. The dress is magnificent, and you look magnificent in it!!! Some things are worth every penny, for many different reasons. You've got yourself an incredible dress that you look amazing in and it's also a piece of history. I am green with envy. I love Ceil Chapman. The drapes and curves are so incredibly flattering, especially on my fuller figure!!

Congrats again!:) I hope you had a wonderful anniversary:D

I feel stupid. I have never heard of her. What makes her so special?

Don't feel bad..neither had I 'til I started hanging out here...but who cares[huh] you don't need to be an expert to know something is exquisite when you see it.

As many here have pointed out...I am simply not at the place in my life where I can justify dropping that kind of money on a single dress, but, I'm beyond that at this point...it is thrilling to know that a fine garment such as that has been preserved and someone is enjoying it.Wear with joy, Grace!:)

About 20 years ago a very petite and fashion savvy friend showed up at a NYSDS dance in an original Ceil Chapman. Talk about drop dead gorgeous. The dress has a completely organic look. The woman wore the dress, not the other way around. Stunning. Try Googling Ceil Chapman: you get lots of references to famous names in her dresses (Monroe, Judy Holliday, etc., etc) and lots of her dresses for sale or in museums. But nothing on the lady herself! Lots of bio info on Coco Chanel, Balenciaga, Dior, all her famous contemporaries. Nothing on her! But she was a BIG name in the 50's!
