I love all those, they'll definitely set a spiffy table.
I collect Milkglass and also interchange it with all white simple modern dishes which helps since my set isn't complete yet.
Here's a pic of some of the collection:

I happen to have the same set of milk glass dishes as Rubyredlocks--a friend gave me a nearly-complete service for 16 for free :) The only pieces I am missing are the tumblers and cereal bowls, which I hope to add to the collection someday. I also collect milk glass candy dishes, and have about 10.

No one has mentioned this yet, by I also have a set of 1930s-40s red bakelite flatware. It’s a complete service for six, and also includes a butter knife and a sugar spoon.

That's a relief. :)

I want to clarify my LL Bean comment... ...I called them and described the issue, and they said I can return them for a gift certificate. Sounds good to me!

Ah, good. That should work well.

I just didn't want to think that you'd picked the dishes up at an estate or garage sale or auction for $42 for the entire set, then would return them to Bean for more than $42 in cash or merchandise. :cool2:

Whew!

Huh?! No no. I got the "new" retro dishes today for $42 total. I bought the dishes I have been using until now from LL Bean and paid full retail (which is now $40 per place setting). They are the ones that are cracking and crazing.

I'm not like that.

JBD-I have some bakelite flatware as well,mis-matched though. Would love a matched set,but they run a little deep for my pockets.

PSG-Thanks,you wouldn't beleive how long it took me to decide what dinnerware to start collecting,I think the snack sets are what sold me on Milkglass.

My dishes are Tickled Pink by Vernon Kilns. It's taken me awhile, but I have almost every piece I want now. :)

Ignore the blue one...that's the Heavenly Days pattern.

I have some pieces of bakelite flatware too. I really like them. Someday, I'd like to get a matched set.

Of course not.

Didn't think those looked like dishes Bean would carry.
Pfaltzgraff has been that way for me. Two sets didn't make it to three years - and we didn't have a dishwasher until about four years ago so they got all cracky-fadey with hand washing. Pfaltzcrap.

Um...

The plates worked great at dinner*, and went through the dishwasher just fine. And um, the bread plate is fantastic for an evening snack** (had to test it!) and the uh bowl is perfect for a pre-bedtime snack.***

*My own American Chop Suey recipe: Whole grain elbow pasta with ground turkey burger, tomato sauce, red and yellow peppers, onions.

**Toasted whole grain bread with provolone cheese.

***Organic corn flakes and maple syrup.

Oh gosh, that is a great score!

I *love* that Tickled Pink.
I have been collecting royal doulton starburst, sort of like the Atomic pattern upthread but in a star shape.
