Yeah I've been watching that boob so long I've even watched him outgrow his old coffin (seriously he had to get a bigger one). Like foot fungus he grows on ya. The awful jokes, parody songs... and schtick! I can't help it I love da guy!

You likely grew up with a similar character. Most TV markets seemed to have a horror host. Here in Dayton it was Dr. Creep with "Shock Theater." Over the decades he became a very beloved local celebrity, involved in charities, store openings, probably birthday parties and Bar Mitzvahs. He was also heavily involved in MDA and raised a lot of money for that. I think one of the local theaters still has a Halloween all-night horror movie party every year - a tradition he started.

Yeah we had one of the "OG" monster hosts in NY... Zackerly was his name. He looked like the Phantom of the Opera sans the horrific teeth. Eventually he gave up the monster movie thing and began hosting a teen dance party show... IIRC. Man I'm gettin' old.

There is a youtube channel (nakateleeli). He and his friend do "let's plays" on it. I came across the channel back in 2012 not long after a close friend passed away. It was the only thing that helped me get by, as a number of their plays (which I have saved in my in my youtube account) had me laughing so hard. The one that started it all was the Super Mario Bros. WII playlist. Then, sometime last year, I think it was, I happened to come across Faxanadu Remastered being played on Chay Plays. That playthrough essentially reminds me of my life journey. If my life were to be represented by a "let's play", that one would be it. I watch it on a somewhat frequent basis, but especially when I get annoyed and frustrated because of stupid stuff. Since his playthrough is so resonant with how I feel at times, it immediately cheers me up.

All this may seem childish to some, but for me, there is an emotional connection there and they keep me company.
