Alley Kat Hat Co

Bob, I second what Dogman said; you're going to love that AlleyKat hat. I've got two of them, they're fantastic hats, and you couldn't ask for a better man to deal with, work with, or talk with. You're in great hands with Tim!

Johnny, my friend, you are very likely the best thing that ever happened in my life; it could have not been better timed. I appreciate your words always! You helped me pick myself up, dust off the grime, and you put some tools in place for me to see, understand and use. Thank you my friend!

This afternoon I spoke with Tim, and I've now officially become a member of the Alley Kat Hat pack. I hope I can stand the wait. I'm thinking Grand Torino, but I also have a couple of other ideas. Great guy to talk to, and the man knows hats!

Good morning Bob.
Thank you very much for walking down the AlleyKat pathway. I appreciate your post, your support and kind words. It was good to speak to you and I look forward to making this 7-7/8 for you. Again, thank you.

I'm sure you will end up with a stunner.
He's an all round great guy.
It's so nice to have a fellow hatter to talk shop with and shoot idea's back and forth with.

Thanks, Esther. I was only on the phone with Tim for a short time, but not only did he blow me away with his knowledge but he also came up with a great idea when I merely mentioned a passing thought. I am really psyched.
I can't tell you the great admiration I have for you, Tim, and all the other people who create such beautiful things. Eventually I'll try to throw some business to all of the artisans I admire.

Thanks, P.M. I understand you're a man with a similar Martian cranial capacity. Great brains think alike!

7 7/8th!!!!!??? Wow now that's a hat size!

7-7/8 is a challange, but I have the block!
This forces me to have to learn how to make a hat liner. I've recently had some tutorial help from a very kind gentleman hatter, who took the time to photo document and explain everything I needed to know. Kept close to the vest at his request, which I honor.
Regular and pleated but I need to step slow here, and learn. Thanks all for the good words! !

My head's been a challenge for years, believe me.

Hi Bob, sad news there.... the company does fantastic work, but we hit a snag. The tip cut , round versus oval became the issue; and the liners will not lay flat against the felt crown interior. So we had to sadly part ways. As I learn to make my own, I am going to look into having my tips done in a different fashion. Kurt did a nice job, and like I told him, it was a growth experience as an Artist, for us both.

Mien also!
Seriously though, not being able to find vintage hats in my size is one very big reason that I wanted to master making them. Now if I can just get myself in line......I sold RJR my very first, pre-cane, hat. A man has got to do what he got to do to feed his beloved dogs.

Here is my Alley Kat Hat that Tim is working on. Almost done!!! He has the Sweat and Ribbon to get done.

Pecan Beaver
7 1/4
2 3/4 brim

Ribbon is a dark grey that'll go good with my dress coat.

Brim binding, pecan.

Ever since I contacted Tim to make me a hat, he has been so kind and eager to please. I've pretty much left it up to him. A true artisan! I am more than pleased!!!

I can't wait to get this one on my noggin!!
