Wowza, they look really nice!
Love the ribbon work and especially the colour contrasts with the felts.
Nice job!

Big news everyone! By buddy Cane just showed me pics of his first bound edge, and it looks fantastic!

I may have to order another hat from him!

Maybe we can persuade him to post a couple pics.

Hi Pete!
Yes actually there is a something coming soon.
But I do want to say this......before judgement.

First....the body was from when I started. I put it to the side because I did not care for "the hand" on the brims top side.

I pulled it out the other day and decided I needed to learn this. I have the spare time. I re-pounced the brim.....it looks much better and some of the "areas" I didn't like are under binding.

Second.....the binding went very well but my first "rear seam" could have been better. But I am a harsh critic of my work.

Keep in mind as you zoom to the stitching this was completed entirely by hand and in one continuous stitch. I've compared...it looks pretty darn good. I'm very happy with the results.

In the learning. .....it noticed I got some finger oil into the grosgrain . So it looks perhaps used. But barely noticeable.

Oh the ribbon on the body is just for a idea....open to ribbon work yet.

I have an idea for this hat. ...soon to come.

Hello!
Here are a few pics of the self same hat Cane Rod Maker is working on. Beautifully hand stitched beaver felt for a STEAL!

The ribbon is just loosely tacked to show what it could look like.

Tim sent me a text that included those photos not five minutes after I'd read his last post (#744) Wednesday night. If the hat had been a little larger, or my head a little smaller, I'd have jumped at it. Anyone whose head measures 23" and is interested should contact Tim a.s.a.p..

Gabe thanks for posting those pictures.
I cut a sweatband tonight at 23 inch. Size 7 and 3/8.
It will be done tomorrow.

Honestly said.....I just want 100.00 for it.
That is 100% dress weight beaver.
I want to send Preacher Man that hundred. When things were not good and when I was MIA he would reach out, or I to him. The man who I only knew from here was very helpful to me.

So....pretty simple I want to sell this first bound brim fedora for 100.00. Plus shipping.

I want Preacher Man to use it for however he sees fit.

Any takers??

Thanks in advance!
