hatsRme; To catch you up on my hat, Tim noticed some off color splotches on the hat body he was making my latest creation out of. He scrapped that one, called Winchester and ordered some more bodies. So now he's waiting on a replacement body so he can start over. My noggin is a big ol melon! 24 1/2 inch longoval, so just any hat body wont work. Tim does do excellent work, I've got one of his hats and its great. This is to be my second Cane's Creation and I'm still looking forward to it. So that's the story on this hat, as soon as Tim gets the replacement hat body, he'll start the process again. I will post pics when its finished which may be awhile. And that's how it goes!! :)

Not surprised! CaneRodMaker is the type of craftsman that will not (or simply can not) let anything out the door if he feels it's not PERFECT. That's because he's TIM! That's just the way he is.

Thanks for all the good words Charlie & Johnny. And everybody who has been posting.

I just sent TomS his second hat, that is Cane 11.......held off on sending him pictures because he asked me to suprise him with ribbon work.

I will send him photos I took after he gets his hat this Wednesday.

Thanks Gentlemen!!

I am very excited to see the second hat Tim has done for me. I can't say enough about the quality and workmanship of the first one! If you haven't gotten one of Tim's hats yet you really owe it to yourself to get one... it really is quite an experience!

I just received Cane's Creations #11; My second hat from "Cane Rod". The quality and workmanship are simply amazing. The stitching is all done by hand, and it really is something to see.

On this particular project we decided on a pecan felt, but aside from that Tim made all of the other decisions himself. I'm particularly taken with the ribbon work on this hat. It's two-tone, and the colors accentuate the felt beautifully. Tim also chose a raked-back crown, wide brim, and a diamond bash. This hat blends casual style with the vintage look that I'm so fond of.

Of course it fits perfectly, as you would expect a custom would. Here are a few quick pics...

TomS;
Thanks for sharing that good looking Cane's Creations hat with us. It's a fine looking lid for sure. I too have a Cane's pecan beaver, love it. You're right, Tim does fantastic work and it's a pleasure to work with him. Congrats on hat #11 TomS, you chose well! More great work Tim! Keep em coming!!!

Hey guys, I just want to report that I received another hat from Tim and it is beautiful! I haven't had time to take any pictures of it because I'm on the road working right now. Maybe Tim has a few he can post and I'll post mine when I get home.

Here are the basics of it. It is a natural beaver with a 3" brim. Tim didn't put a ribbon on it because I had a beautiful silver and black horsehair band I wanted to put on it. I sent that to Tim and he stitched it on for a sturdy fit. I had Tim send the hat to me Open Crown and I creased it myself in a cattleman's crease. It looks fantastic and the fit is perfect. I'm a long oval and Tim tried something different on this one to get a better long oval and it worked out great.

Sorry about not having any pictures but I'll post some when I get home.

Thanks Tim!

Just got this in from Tim yesterday. It doesn't fit into my kid collection but he made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Color is sand with a black ribbon with burgundy highlight.

Brand New Granite from Cane's Creations

This was waiting for me when I got home this past Friday. This is granite with a sand colored vintage ribbon. The bow was inspired by the hat Tim made for casechopper's little daughter Greta. That was the first time I'd seen a frayed edge bow and I liked it so I had Tim do mine with it. This is my second Cane's Creations hat and I am very well pleased with Tim's work and dedication to his craft! So here are some pics:

This is one while in the process:

Finished in Tim's shop:

Close up of the bow:

A side shot:

And finally a Preacher Man heading to work Sunday Morning:

Tim, thanks for the great work!
