Greetings, friends. In the spirit of the George Romero canon, I was a former office worker who hadn't quite figured out that his services were no longer required.

I dressed head to toe in clothes and props from the Salvation Army store, including suit and tie, white bucks, a ripped open briefcase, and a telephone handset with dangling wires. The makeup was done by yours truly. The only real monetary expenditure was for the contact lenses.

Here my supervisor breaches our very strict policy about physical contact between employees:

This is a close-up of the I.D. badge that I made:

And since no one here has seen me for quite a while, here's a "before" picture so you know that I haven't really been rotting away:

May your Hallowe'en be as safe and fun as mine.

For Hallowe'en, I don't really have any plans, other than going to church in the morning, perhaps. I've got an important homework assignment due Monday, and I will just be staying home most likely. I'm not sure if I'll even be doing a costume tomorrow. I could go for that pseudo Indiana Jones look (khaki pants, white dress shirt, brown leather shoes, brown G-1 leather jacket, and to top it off my brown Akubra Federation)... Kind of a lame knock off, but I might not even do that.

And I thought your HOT Pirate look from last year would be hard to top...

Btw, love the hair (as shown in your 'before' photo), it looks gorgeous on you.

Great costumes folks! Wow, makes me feel like I didn't go out on a limb enough, but next year perhaps.

Here's a black and white photo of me in my costume from last night, I look less bank robber and more hero a la the Spirit than I thought when I saw the photo.

**DISCLAIMER!!!**Not for the squeamish...**This is NOT a Halloween trick! Yeah, this is the real deal here, from a very real injury. I got my Halloween Fright this early afternoon. My teenage son Daniel (mistakenly) used a very sharp paring knife to work on carving his Jack-O-Lantern. He called me from the back porch, saying "Mom, I cut my finger ...really bad." His face looked ashen, and he said he felt like he was going to throw up. Rushed him to the ER, the knife went almost perpendicular into his left thumb. Seven stitches later... He'll be getting it checked hopefully tomorrow by the Pediatrician to make sure there is no infection starting, as its so deep. I'm slowly just starting to get over being queasy all afternoon...

My day wasn't that interesting. Like I said, I had an assignment to finish up, and I'm still working on that, among other things. Sounds like most of you enjoyed Hallowe'en then, right?

Thanks Mr. Vim and DHermann. I guess a boy isn't 'real' unless he's gotten scarred, scraped, broken up and banged up bit some, huh? No longer a wooden Pinocchio, he's a REAL BOY now. This injury will probably have a helluva scar. I said to the PA that stitched him up, "If he can feel the pain- he hasn't severed any nerves, right? She said, "Oh no, he's definitely severed nerves with a cut this deep."
