As far as I am aware, from discussions, the only differences between Warhawk and CXL is that Warhawk ( in both std. and Vintage form) has not been hand glazed (by deliberate design) and as a result has a more grainy "face" ..... either way it sounds mighty nice ............. and choice is good IMHO, choice is very good.

We'll see when the samples get here :D

Looks like Alexander are making stuff for fashion houses. Nigel Cabourn stuff is inspired by vintage work ware but sells for crazy money at retail. I actually quite like this others will disagree.......

People, let's keep the politics and/or personal animosities out of the discussion.
Thanks.

Aww. And I didn't even get a chance to mention the Judean Popular Peoples Front ...! (SPLITTERS!)

Roger that, Bar Keep. Duly noted.

As a happy observer of the frequent cavalry charges of the FQHH centaurs representing provisional and official branches of scottish jacketry would the bartender consider locking the antagonists in an upstairs room thread with the odd announcement of score?

Not sure it is a "Made in England" ... I think it's Nigel Cabourn's label which says "Nigel Cabourn ..... England"....... so it will have to say either made in the UK or Made in Scotland on the info label within the jacket if that is where it was manufactured.

.... now don't drag this thread down any particular labelling or mis-labelling rabbit hole please .... that one will sort itself out in due course and has been done to death a thousand times over.

Clearly says 'Made in England ' above the Cabourn label . Once again they're up to their mis-labeling again
This is brand labelling. I think PL is right to say there will be a fuller label elsewhere in the garment/packaging.

It wouldn't be a surprise to discover that small makers produce special items for fashion market sellers and these are labelled as the final seller sees fit - with adherence to sales information rules. I know of at least one English leather goods company that has made items for high fashion houses, with no expectation of any label declaration.

I hardly think anyone is misled. We know where it came from. And the fashion buyers probably couldn't care less.

OK, back to more important matters. The large swatch is Warhawk vintage brown. It's between 1.3 to 1.4mm according to my callipers. A full grain leather (you can see the hair follicle pores) with that distinctive oiled feel.

The smaller swatch is Aero FQHH brown from a decade ago. 1.4mm it has the same handle. Perhaps a bit more processed, I can't see any pores with a loupe. Leather varies batch to batch but most people would probably only be able to distinguish that the colours are different !

The small swatch is Alexander Bison brown. 1.5mm. More of a solid pigment rather than semi-aniline. Pores still just visible.

The large is Alexander Buffalo russet 1.4mm. Could almost pass as goatskin.

The great 'deflector' strikes again..lol

Deflecting what precicely ....... if youve nothing constructive to add then it's probably best you stay away from the keyboard HD ..... and your personal gripe with me is petty and somewhat embarassing.
