Hi guys,
Wondering if anyone has bought either of these jackets? Ive been looking around, and for the price, they look OK. They dont have a great deal of info on their site about where materials are sourced, or too many other details. Ive seen a couple of nice steeer hide jackets from there on this site, wondering if anyone has had any experience with their bomber jackets?
Thanks for any input....

Having had both from a variety of suppliers .. I'd ALWAYS go D-1 or ANJ-4 ( I NEED pockets)

Julie Kelly - who is the sheepskin machinist from Aero now at Alexanders makes IMHO some of the BEST Sheepskin jackets in the world ( I'd have NO concerns ordering from Alexanders on that count)

Don't know about materials .... but the chrome tanned oilpull smaples look mighty fine and the sheepskin is UK sourced so should also be great.

No experience of bomber jackets ..... just not my thing :)

You might want to consider a B6, it is like a D1, but it has some interesting features like a bi-swing back for more ease of movement, and tabs on the waist to snug it up and slim down the fit. The B6 is not has heavy as the B3, but I think it is more ergonomic. Jut my opinion..

Thanks for that. I love the B-3, I just think its too bulky to wear around in Australian winter....the D-1 is advertised on the Alexander site. I actually prefer the B-6 myself, but there is a D-1 on sale for £400 on The website, which is what got me considering it. Ive got an option on a cheap Battle of Britain jacket, just dont know if I can commit when it hasnt got any pockets! That is the killer....

I've heard people recommend having zips inserted to handwarmer pockets if they 'balloon' slightly, but I fear the scraping your hands would get from them.

I recenty sold my B-6 ...... I just ddidn't like the bi-swing back, eppaulettes etc. It's a really fussy jacket IMHO ( side zips etc.) ..... my grandfather ( a radio operator on Lancasters in WWII ) informed me that he thought it was originally designed for nurses - at least those were the majority of people he saw wearing the b-6 ...... I guess it depends wether you want simplicity or complexity. It is possible to make the D-1 without zips on the pockets and with B-6 "lipped" pockets ( I had an Aero redskin in this design a few years ago). The lighter sheepskin in the D-1 is MUCH more appropriate for the UK climate ... the B-3 and ANJ-4 are mighty warm jackets :)
