Alden 403 sizes - can somebody check me here?

I ordered 9s.

I understood these to be sized a bit large given the TB last etc. What I received is a massive pair of boots. This can’t be size 9 right? I’m having trouble making any sense of the numbers and Greek figures printed inside the upper…

If this is size 9 then maybe I need to order 5s. If this is size 14 then maybe the 9s were right.

Ok I figured out that these are 12 EEEs.… in a 9D box.
