Interesting to see that Iron Heart is sticking with Aleximmons.

Yes, but where are they going to go? They've been facilitating AL's anti-Aero, WL defending venom on their own forums page, and now the result is in have locked comments and been editing the historical record. They've missed their chance to throw their hands up, say 'Oh no!', feign surprise at the courts verdict, and choose a different path.

They've firmly decided to throw their lot in with AL/SB, distort facts, attack Aero and TFL, and therefore IMHO can be regarded as dishonest people I would never purchase from. They know that they are lying about matters that were decided in court. Reprehensible.

Steve Toohey must be giving them an awesome 'trade discount' to make all this worth their while. Given Toohey's bodge job on the rebranding, he doesn't strike me as a business genius, so I'd wager his cost prices to Iron Heart are gonna make his company bleed.

Yes. I saw that. As I've said before, I'm not sure how much press this whole fiasco has got outside this forum. It might not be the end of them if their collaborations are still in place? If there isn't a pending lawsuit they might well be ok?

From what we've seen on the AL/SB website, it seems that a) ST has rather free reign in running the business, and b) he hasn't got much business sense.

I think the whole thing is just a case of how much money is SA prepared to keep putting into this.

Yes, outside of here this is a nonexistent story and of course IH locked their thread so as far as guys over there know, it was much ado about nothing. They can't exactly turn to Aero at this point, and I'm sure AL will do what it takes to keep them on board.

That's right. I was wondering who else would be able to collaborate with them. They aren't cheap jackets on the IH forum either. Quite the opposite. Mind you, I don't think we are talking huge numbers either.

Well, this saga has had well over a 150,000 views on both running threads and the trial narrative. Plenty of people that make it their business to know about jackets have seen them and word spreads.

I wonder how many have been looking at this and the other thread marvelling at the AL haters frothing at the mouth and rending their garments though, rather then taking the message that you want them to take from it? It must be a sort of backhanded complement to have people starting threads just to post a stream of consciousness diatribe about you.

I must confess I did hold my nose and take a look at a couple of pages just to see what the faithful were on about now the other thread has died on its arse. It is no different; it is much the same. To almost quote a bad poet.

Before anyone says it, I don’t care if I help to keep it going either. It’s certainly good for a laugh.

BTW I was speaking to Debs at AL about possibly ordering a new jacket the other day, and she told me the waiting time was over six weeks now. Busy with orders for retailers she said....

Thats the thing, I think AL jackets will probably continue to be purchased through collaborations with other retailers by people with no real depth of interest in jackets...well not like most of us here.

These people will never see or hear (or probably care) who WL or ST or SA or AL are. As crazy as it is to us, there are people out there that don't do in-depth research on jackets styles and different types of leathers, these people will probably end up being the bulk of AL customers through their other retail affiliates.

It would be interesting to see how much AL/SB branding there will be on these jackets going forward. Its very possible that someone could buy one and never know where it originated....I don't remember seeing any reference to Aero on the LVC speedway jacket that I had.

Without a strong brand name, identity and reputation, might as well go offshore and make them for a fraction of the price in India, Bangladesh etc.

I've never heard of a business telling a customer that things are going poorly, even if behind the scenes they were boiling their own shoes for dinner, so, yeah, whatever [huh]. But if they're so busy, why are they looking to downsize to just one factory, probably the Moffat one? Oh, and fewer staff = longer waiting times - see previous sentence.
The problem with relying on collaborations is that they are risky for the maker: they do all the development and test pieces, the label simply says 'this is what we want and here are the materials'. They then attempt to sell the design at industry shows, and if it doesn't fly for whatever reason, then the maker is left shouldering all the cost with little return.

Yeah, we know - just coming in to see how dopey everyone but "me" is...
My guess is that WL made a lot of new friends this week and Scottish prisons are cold - likely got Steveo to fashion up some nice warm Ae, er AL B3's for the new crew! Busy busy busy!

You gonna bring him in a helping of Welsh Rarebit now and again? Say "Hi!"

Still, for all that there'll come a day when someone will ask you if your jacket's an Aero, and you'll either lie or admit, "Um, no, it's the bargain-basement version." And people posting stream-of-consciousness diatribes? Who? Let's see: you, Schizo, Drifter, HT. Good company.

You're correct, there will always be people who don't care about the source of their purchases, as long as they save a buck. (or pound or euro)

It's the high-and-mighty tone that they take always mystifies me: "How dare you judge this convicted criminal and his dodgy mates..." One of the reasons I'm glad that the trial narrative thread has been locked and then made a sticky is that it acts as a corrective to the revisionism that always creeps in with this sort of thing, where people like Johnny Minto, Giles at Iron Heart, Sandy A and Steven Toohey, all try re-write their roles.

Haven't seen you for a while! Your pal Drifter was here trolling yesterday, no doubt you other pal Hidetanner will be here tomorrow.
In fact, none of you are contributing to the discussion, you just want to insult us, so why don't you sod off?

I think there may be a few of us who try and stay out of this mess. Clearly WL was in the wrong, but I (and others) see no reason to constantly disparage AL/WL and even another forum. It's over and done - let's move on like gentlemen.

If you don't see any reason, then you need to go back and read the threads more closely again.
Why don't you move on?

So, how did 'ol Debs, or whomever, answer the phone; as Alexander, or as Simmons Bilt?

According to their website, it looks as though they're so busy, they'll only receive calls between 9am and 1pm...

And speaking of COW's "people posting threads," I see that on the IH Intl. Facebook daily log-ins the name Deborah Toohey heads up the "I like" lists in several entries. I'll bet she does: "Honey, didja post today? C'mon, somebody's got to get the ball rollin'."
