Yeah, brother, but I liked THIS color ever better,

they call it smokey blue and it looks very promising, a less comon color, at least at my house. It works out to about $104-USD (if I figured it right) plus shipping from Oz ...Hhhmmm

Dunno, but it is an appealingly straightforward treatment, I like it. It resembles the simple grosgrain band on my Biltmore straw (LOGAN model)

That is quite a color. Look good with a dark suit you think? have the smokey blue give it all that little bit of pop?

and think about it- you can get just about any hat in grey, but how many can you get in such an interesting color.

I've just achieved a similar sort of result by taking an even quarter-inch off the brim of my Federation. Now looks very Early 1930's.
I'd post a pic, but for some reason I can never achieve it on this site ! Maybe the Moderator can help me with what I'm doing wrong (in Idiot-Speak please, I'm not much good at IT) ?

whoa buddy, ya' gots bigger stones than I do, I would be a nervous wreck trying something like that! Did'ja use a brim cutter or did'ja freehand it? I would love to see a snap or two of the finished product!

Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm a timid old rabbit. I just used the method explained over on the Club Obi Wan website. I marked a quarter inch in from the edge of the brim all the way round with a sharp piece of dressmaker's chalk and carefully cut it with VERY SHARP scissors. Finished all the irregularities with fine sandpaper.
I used to worry about cutting brims but confidence came after doing it the first time. I cut them for friends now.
If you're worried about trying, first experiment on an old hat that doesn't matter.

with some success is to obtain a free acct. on photobucket.com. It is quite easy with a very intuitive interface, mostly drop & drag or something similar. If you can turn on your computer you can successfully navigate photobucket. To link the photos you simply copy the "IMG" info & paste it into yr. message. I can't imagine that you would have any trouble with the process. I would LOVE to see that Hudson, a right hand drive, is it?

No, the car is left hand drive. I bought it in Michigan and shipped it home. An American car isn't an American car unless it's left-hand drive !
