Akubra Overload

I have. The "sqautter-esque" hat seems to be a pretty likely resemblance to Kidman's, with details like the super-thin bound edge pretty well placed...the bash in the picture doesn't do it much justice, but I think this would be a pretty darn close replica.

Having the name squatter mentioned as such in the description, I wonder if the hat is actually made by Akubra. It would only make sense.

Too bad they don't have a replica of SingSong's hat.

Well, AFAIK, Akubra provided all the hats for the movie - going as far as buying back some of the period pieces from their customers so that they could copy them for the movie.

I think it has already been confirmed that Akubra did all the hats for the movie. There was a pretty good thread on the subject with articles from Australian media on the hat designer, etc. RMW is the exclusive distributor of clothing associated with the movie.

R.M.Williams hat Akubra "RM" link

The only other hat that I see on the RMW site is the Akubra "RM" hat. RMW does seem to have strong ties with Akubra. Besides the hat that they have had for some time, the exclusive on the movie hat (Akubra) they seemed to use them a lot in other marketing efforts. Back in '05 they were in a joint venture with P&O to build an outback resort and there were a lot of Akubras around there. The staff all wore RM boots and Akubra hats.

R -- the "R.M." is a mid-brown Campdraft, but creased in the style of R.M. Williams. The "R.M." is covered pretty exhaustively in this thread:Akubra "R.M.".
