I suspect it has shrunk. In my experience Akubras tend to shrink over time more than other brands (e.g., Stetson, Resistol, etc).

Agreed. I've been ordering my last few Akubras a size large and using a shim because I know they will shrink - and not just the sweatband, the whole hat.

My Sombrero, on the other hand, is running a little large. Gotta get it broke in and ready for mushroom season!

The Squatter has a smaller crown.

The Colly has a 5 in. crown. That's an inch taller than a Cattleman or a Territory; three triangular small eyelets. It's a Territory with a tall crown, or maybe a Sombrero with a smaller brim?

What can you do with a Snowy River to make it look like something else?
Any example images ? I only found a post about making another style into a snowy River , nothing
about Snow rivers into something else. I own 5 of them and kinda want something else but curious before
I mess one up. I have no qualms about cutting brims if it takes that.
(secretly I want to see one with a cattlemen crease )

No brim cutting but distilled water spritzing and lots of steam. It's a wrestling match sometimes with these Akubra felts. The front of the brim has an audible snap to it now. Lol

Ready for mushroom season. I just hope the weather and the bloom falls on my vacation requests from work.

The cow hair band I thought was gross and creepy even before I handled a Sombrero. But now I'm into the fun and funky stage.

Cattleman limited edition update

So there was a comment in my Cattleman limited edition post on some mottling of the felt. Not a big deal at the time but steam could not fix it and it actually grew worse. I contacted Akubra with photos and they suggested steaming and brushing - not working. I sent one email about the importance of QC/QA in manufacturing.

Let us pray to the Quality Control, Quality Assurance Officer - for those of you familiar with how manufacturing works.

Eventually I asked them about a refund or replacement and what about shipping back and forth? Ultimately I received a surprise shipment notification from Akubra about a replacement hat at no charge and keep the dud, it's on us.

Pretty outstanding customer service I think.

Obviously there’s no need to be concerned about the ordering from Australia, at least with Hats Direct. Kinda makes you wonder what was behind the notification on ordering
