I ordered my new Banjo Paterson from The Hattery back around black Friday, it still hasn't left Australia according to tracking. I ordered a Leisure Time as a gift for someone else from Everything Australian a day later and it arrived on Monday. Crazy how shipping times differ.

Sorry to hear that you've been waiting so long. Mine came to Japan in just 3 days from Everything Australian. Ordered on Dec 10th and arrived on Dec 13th to my door. One thing I usually do is call the store to make sure that they have the one I want in stock. I've also ordered from The Hattery and it took just about 5 days to reach me. Lucky, I guess.

I have had good luck with both sellers, I'm not complaining about the Hattery. Shipping has usually been quicker than expected this one has just been delayed slightly.

A while back I found a box set of the collected works of Henry Lawson and Banjo Paterson. Have done enough reading to figure out that Henry Lawson wrote about the gritty details of a harsh outback life and Banjo Paterson was a bit more positive and poetic. Both are highly recommeded as a good read for Ausrailian and Akubra lovers.

Here today is my over 40 yr old Akubra Lawson. Hopefully today Ill have a box arrive with my new-to-me Banjo Paterson in Carbon...so tomorrow Ill snap a pic of it with the Banjo volume. Heck... I may have to gather up all the Akubras and do a family picture!

A new Traveller in Sand arrived last week, my first Akubra purchase since 2011, so figure it's a good time for my first post here in nearly as long. Took it on a trip to a rainy Amsterdam at the weekend and very happy with it. A welcome addition to my Akubra collection of two Stylemasters, two Banjo Patersons, Cattleman and Jackaroo.

My new Banjo Paterson finally got put on a plane bound for the US yesterday, it only took 2 1/2 weeks to get put on a plane.
Good luck, My new Banjo Paterson has been stuck with USPS somewhere in Dallas. Every day since friday at exactly 12 midnight it scans " In transit to next facility". Now estimates delivery by the 23rd.. Way its going I MAY have a New Years hat!

Sigh.......No Charcoal Banjo Paterson in the mail today, so I figured I go ahead and throw up the promised Family pic of my other Akubras (Not counting the Bogart and Stylemaster that I gave to my brother a while back.) Took me from 1999 till now to get to this point.

Kinda left to right... Coobalah, Stockman, Bogart, Lightning Ridge, Lawson, Stylemaster, Sidewinder, Another Stylemaster, Metropolitan, yet ANOTHER older Stylemaster, ( I like Stylemasters lol) and last but cetrainly not least the georgeous green East Coast

The Lightning Ridge and Coobalah have had the brims trimmed to a bit more managable 2-1/2- 2-5/8" ... the others are unmolested. Lawson, Lightning Ridge (and the soon-to-arrive Banjo Paterson) are Heritage felt, and the others are Imperial felt. Good mix of bound edges and raw edges. The Metropolitan is unusual as it has a raw edge with a triple row of stitching sewn on the brim edge. Im prob going to do a upgrade and do a ribbon brim edge treatment on the Stockman and the Sidewinder someday soon. On those two Im also going to do an old style Campaign ribbon bow and new ribbon.

Cant say if theres a favorite in the bunch because they ALL get worn regularly. As a group I will say that in bad weather, the Akubras are usually my go to lids, they handle rain beautifully. Have never had to steam and reshape any of them. With a couple exceptions most are pushing at least 15 yrs old. The Lawson was my first in 1996 or so.

Dang now I have to hang them all back up lol
