Appealing to owners of Glen Gray & Carbon Gray Akubra's, particularly the Fed IV I guess. What color is this? The closeup pic is most accurate I think.

In cool photographic lighting conditions (& with a blue table cloth) it tends to take on a bluish tint. I read in an old post that is typical of Carbon Gray?

What say you, please?
Here is a Glen Gray Stockman, compared to Moonstone Camp Draft.

Hello all

I am after some advice. I have several Akubras in black, rodeo brown, santone fawn and sand, and am looking to get a Rough Rider as my next model. Ideally I would get this in sand but they don’t offer it in that, so my closest option is light sand, but the catalog images of this shade online are somewhat confusing as they vary between beige and white. Can anyone with firsthand experience of both light sand and sand tell me how different they are, and quite how light it is? I am definitely looking for more the beige side rather than the white. My other option is bran, but again while some images of this look almost like sand, others are much more of a light oat brown and that is not what I am wanting. Thanks in advance!

I needed an upscale full coverage hat for an outdoor event and recently discovered the quality and affordability of the Akubra line with the purchase of the Range Hemp and Coolabah models. Now looking forward to getting the Cattleman. In the course of performing research, I came across this highly entertaining news article showing contrasting hat styles. What was the PM thinking?

Akubra Guy here. I have many styles, from the adventurer to the Cattleman, rough rider, Campdraft, Pastoralist, Kiandra and some of their hemp range hats. But my favorite has to be the legendary Sombrero. The Good Lord has never graced mankind with a better bush hat. And the more you wear it, the more it takes on a life of it’s own. If you don’t have one, just buy it. It may not be the hat you wear every day but it will become an instant favorite.

I was recently in Las Cruces New Mexico and I spotted an elderly Hispanic man doing yard chores wearing a felt sombrero a lot like the Akubra only LARGER. It was a well lived in hat, sweat stains galore. It was the coolest looking and most practical hat for the application. Damn, now I want one.
