Does anyone have the Adventurer? Looks like it might be a good choice for my next Akubra.

<<<Update>>>
Never mind - will know in 3 months...

I have it and I love it, somehow I love wider brimmed hats, this one is a head turner..

You may get called Indy from time to time but who cares !!!

you won't be disappointed !!!

I was on the Akubra home site earlier today and one of their revolving banner heads showed a new Electric Blue Rough Rider model. I don't think I could pull it off living in my urban environment but it sure does catch the eye. For the more calm folk they also producing the Riverina and the Cattleman in bran now.

I can't gat anything to work on the new EA website. Anyone else having this issue?

On my laptop (Windows 8) it works great, but on my Apple iPad 2 it is very slow to load the main page and it takes a while to resolve the hat images as well when selected.

Thanks guys. Y'all sure do egg a fellow on into more and more hats. On the other hand, it beats my other hobbies. Harleys, scuba diving and shooting all make the hat hobby seem cheap by comparison. At least that's how I sell it to my dear wife.

Loved reading through this thread but you guys really aren't great for my wallet :) I've had a couple of Snow River hats since 1988 or '89 when I was in college. Never really wore hats as much until more recently. Started cheap and simple with some boonie hats and then on to some Tilleys. Now I'm discovering my love of the Akubras so the Snowy Rivers are back in rotation and also recently purchased a Banjo Paterson which I absolutely love.... And to make things worse there are some more in the mail.. The graphite Banjo and a sand Leisure Time... Can't wait and thanks to all for all the information on here!

Welcome aboard, Motorcyclist. Most of us started just like you, cheap and simple, and then.....

If you hang around the Lounge enough you'll find that your wallet is always a little bit thin. [huh]

Thanks. I've always loved hats but just hadn't really gotten around to it much if you know what I mean. Now I'm hooked though. I think someone else made mention somewhere earlier in this thread that hats can at least be cheaper than some other obsessions. Motorcycle accessories certainly are not cheap.

Welcome to the hat addiction. Akubras are great hats. You might give a look at some of the softer hats. They have their own benefits.

So, what do you ride?

Currently in the stable are 2006 BMW R1200GS, 2003 Honda VTR1000, & 2015 Zero SR. Other than the 95+ days I'm normally out riding. Winter doesn't really bother me around here.

I'm sure I will get to some of the softer hats.. Liking the Adventurer & the Stylemaster as well but have to space things out a little bit... So much fun researching and seeing what you guys post.

Stopped in a nearby antique store tonight, and they have this gorgeous Akubra Sundowner sitting there. I didn't buy it. Didn't even ask to open the case to see if it happens to be my size. I think the hefty price drove me away. But... it's a beautiful hat and it continues to call out to me. A little searching on here (thanks Rodkins) reveals that Sundowner is an older model, sorta mimics the Open Road in its dimensions. I may go back just to see if it happens to be my size. And if it is? Oh what to do.... thoughts?

It at least makes for good eye candy. Enjoy!

Given that 90+% of antique store hats are too small for me, if this thing fits, it's destiny, right? Now, if only my wife could buy that simple logic.

here is how you pitch it to her

you say ... if this random hat is my size it is fate and I have to own it... if it is not no more hats until next month

... see what I did there ?... pretty genius ...
