This morning I was given the heads up that the squatter in willow green has been discontinued by Akubra..... damn..... that was a nice hat.

Not 1/3 the weight but a 1/3 less = about 2/3 the weight. That's why I said not enough to be 1/2 the weight....Still a light a$$ lid tho...

to it, I could start arresting people who insult someone else's choice in hats? Or possibly those who wear fashion fedoras with skulls and flames?!

Phew. Nipped into town and grabbed a squatter in green. Luckily they had my size... Superfine felt is very nice indeed. It will go into storage until I wear the CEO out. :-D

They may be fine to order from, but I sent them an email a while back just asking a question about shipping charges for hats to the US (which isn't listed on the website), and I never got a reply. Not a good sign.

I contacted them about the same thing a couple days ago. Figured the delay in response was due to the weekend, but now I'm concerned. You'd think they'd just have that info on their site, but it looks like you have to order first and then they quote you the shipping later -- I'd rather not do that blindly ...

Fellow Lounger Blackthorn made waves in the "Akubra Campdraft" thread by posting a link to TheHatStore.com.au, which seems to carry many Akubra hats, and in colors not widely available and some that were believed by many here to be discontinued.

For example: They offer the Bogart in black, carbon grey and sky grey!, and the Campdraft in sky grey and black!.

I encourage you to browse the website. I'm not totally sure that their website is up-to-date, or how they're procuring all these supposedly discontinued colors, so I have taken the initiative and sent them an email. I will keep you updated with my findings.

It is not. It is lighter than moonstone. The TOP HAT model at the bottom of the page is in Sky Grey.

I just heard from Colby Jack, the lounger who started this overload thread. He has been in the hospital but is out now and doing better. We pray for his continued recovery. I have been waiting for a moonstone CD for quite a long time. Maybe someday.

very interesting! I like the Bogart, but I don't like that it's normally only available in black & carbon grey.

Alright, guys, sorry for getting your hopes up. It looks like most of those colors are no longer available, although they said they may be able to get a run of Campdrafts in black [huh]. Most of their hats, like EA, are indent (3-month wait). In other words, unless they do get a run of CDs in black, take your business to EA lol. It's odd, checking their website, it was last updated in 2010...Sky Grey hasn't been available for years. WTH!

Got the response from Nungar Trading Company today regarding shipping. To the US, depending on the service you pick, it is between $40-$55. Yikes!
They also informed me that the Mexican model has been discontinued, so I guess their sites not that up-to-date, either [huh]. I guess I'll be sticking with HatsDirect, EverythingAustralian, DavidMorgan and Noggintops for my Akubra needs lol...

Got the response from Nungar Trading Company today regarding shipping. To the US, depending on the service you pick, it is between $40-$55. Yikes!

Whoa ... they finally responded to me last night, asking for a specific item so they could quote a shipping rate. Guess I know what to expect now. Pretty much cancels out their decent prices.
