Let’s see it shaped! I’ve been thinking about a nullarbor tan Bushman too, but my next Akubra is going to be the Sombrero. I’m looking forward to seeing how you shape your Bushman...and I’m a size 62 too so if it doesn’t work for you....

Ooh, I like the hat in that photo. Well, except for the fuzzy "band" around the crown; tooled or braided leather would look better, I think.

I’m not a fan of the calf hide band either. I was actually thinking about a narrow snakeskin band.

I went looking for some fall mushrooms after work. It was misting rain so I figured it'd be a good time to start breaking the new Bushman in. I shaped it more or less like my other one. My plan is to wear this one and not worry so much about keeping it spotless and keep the other one looking nice.

Got the Bushman earlier in the week. Been messing around with a bunch of different looks. Just for fun. Probably will settle on a diamond tight pinch. But tbh, I might not steam anything in for a while. It seems to be holding the creases/pinches pretty well.

And I tweaked my Cattleman. Gave it a tighter/boxier pinch and I flattened out the brim.

But I got the Akubra fever. Ordered a couple Federations based on some good info in these threads. And I've always wanted a Snowy River, so what the heck. Hopefully be here next week.

Nice! I've been curious about the Kentucky Rancher for some time but I figured the brim would be too short for my liking. Yours looks great. I'd like to do a telescope crown.

The Bushman is a versatile hat and can take on several styles and shapes well. Keep posting the large photos too, I don’t like the small ones.

Nice Brent! I've tried the Light Sand version of that hat on many times at the DM store, but it doesn't suit me somehow. The Dark Fawn looks great on you!

That's a shame. I would understand having them temporarily discontinued since the factory is scaling back but that sounds like they dont plan bbn on ever getting them back. I'm glad I got my two when I did.

The Village Hat Shop still has some so I went ahead with one in tan. I bet the Campdraft will sell better, but it’s a shame that this unique hat is being discontinued.

The selfish part of me is glad to know that in the future I can go to David Morgan and get a new Campdraft. (I wonder what colors they will carry.) But it is a shame that the Bushman may be gone for good. I have 3, and that extra nudge of brim keeps the rain and sun off of me really well.

The ladies at The Hattery said that Akubra was axing some of the less-popular models to keep the business healthy during these times, so what Brent heard from the folks at David Morgan kind of fits. Bad news for Bushman fans.
