Possible they could be out of production now. A quick Google search shows where a few are being sold "used" on eBay and are being advertised as "Rare Akubra Cockatoo". Sounds like they may be out of production. Check with the "Akubra Overload" thread. Some of the Akubra collectors might be able to give you better information.

Hi, I'm a long time lurker on Fedora Lounge - but just registered.
Have been recently developing an Akubra fetish for wearing with my work suits, since getting a three piece suit and feeling a bit old school.
My latest aquisition just arrived - A Federation IV Deluxe in Heritage Fawn.
The colour is interesting - in reality it's much darker (hint of greeniness to it) than any images convey. But I like it.
Yet to bash, just arrived today.
