Just simply put any wet Akubra in the clothes dryer with a lot of small rocks. It will break in nicely.
Yeah, that didn't go over well with Mom when I was a pup.

Really? Seriously? I'm new at this, so forgive me if I seem nice and doubtful at the same time.Just simply put any wet Akubra in the clothes dryer with a lot of small rocks. It will break in nicely.

Been there. Seen that...My Blue Grass Green Campdraft is my favorite hat. Like others have said, very versatile.
Where my Silverbelly feels more cardboard like, the Blue Grass Green is very soft.
I've found with my facial shape, long and narrow, the wider brims look better on me than the shorter stingy brims.
Some gratuitous shots ))

After some personal shaping:
A good look, imo.Decided I wanted to change out the hat band on my Snowy River and I ran across these on Amazon. Predicted shipping was weeks out but it came in only 7 or 8 days from Oz.

Thanks, RJR! I like the contrast. It's similar to how they're selling them now from what I see in the pics, though I like it better without the Akubra logo. It seems less commercial for lack of a better word.A good look, imo.
is it labelled incorectly?Just received my new campdraft silverbelly from everything Australian. sadly it's going straight back! it's my first Akubra that doesn't fit! my stylemasters bought from Sam fit like a glove, as does my fed. usually they feel slightly loose and shrink to fit.
Im size 57, all my other lids are 57. it's label says 57 but this one was so tight it hurt!! View attachment 76411 im down £15 on return postage. Damn! it looked a nice lid,and I was looking forward to bashing it. put it down to experience
I've sent it back, don't know if label was incorrect, just know that it was tight and as Akubras do shrink. To me it was a no brainer,I had to bite the bullet and return it. I'll see what Sam suggests when he receives it back.is it labelled incorectly?
there is nothing consistent about Akubra sizingi thought they were always slightly too big!
there is nothing consistent about Akubra sizing
words like "always" do not apply to this brand
Sorry to hear you had that kind of an issue with sizing. I personally always have had problems but that's because I am a 7 3/8 LO. So even when I get a 7 1/2 its still tight at the front and back. If I was going to order a factory produced hat again, I would have a conversation with the vendor and make sure the hat fits the bill. I would also talk to them about sizing (Stretch out to a LO?) hat stiffness (not cardboard but not a flop hat) and that ring at the base of the open crown hats (can they buff it out a little?).Just received my new campdraft silverbelly from everything Australian. sadly it's going straight back! it's my first Akubra that doesn't fit! my stylemasters bought from Sam fit like a glove, as does my fed. usually they feel slightly loose and shrink to fit.
