I've got a bogart in black and a stylemaster in moonstone. You have pretty much hit the nail on the head. They are practically identical in dimension, only bashed differently.

I love them both and they get plenty of wear.

Then you're the perfect guy to talk to. Here's my next question: Given that they are dress hats, how would you treat them rain-wise? In other words, are they better left out of the rain, being dress hats, or can they stand up to it? Finally, of the two, which do you prefer, or both equal?

Dan,
I can't answer for the Bogart, but I just WEAR my Akubra's regardless of weather and have found ALL of them to handle ANY type with great aplomb! I'm going to order a Sydney and understand it is basically a raw edged Stylemaster with an Open Crown and will treat it the SAME as I do with ALL my Akubra's. Put 'em on the head and head out the door :)

Onward thru the Fog :)

I tend to just wear them regardless of the weather. Because the dress hats get less outdoor time they tend to last longer than my outdoor hats, but the occasional rain storm doesn't seem to do them any harm.

I retire them once they lose their shape and take the excuse to buy another!

I have Sydney and got caught in downpour a few times in it. It held water in the crown crease until I got to the door and tilted my head to pour it out. After it dried and didn't see any changes in the form. But Sydney's felt is quite different than Leisure Time that I have. It is much, much softer and thinner and smoother. Both are imperial quality though.
