Okay, so I don't have any fancy pics of the process, no tutorial, not even any good pics of the finished product on my head, but just to further encourage people that this CAN be done ...
The final result of an Akubra Snowy River I've had for two years now. I've cut the brim multiple times (it started at over 3"). Changed the ribbon twice. Now I've tackled the elusive brim binding.
The seam at the back looks fine from two feet away, but is not pretty. I don't think I left quite enough slack on the ribbon. It started fraying and pulling itself apart at that seam ... and I was WAY too far into the process before I realize it was going to be ugly.
If you have any sewing ability at all, you can do this!!!
