Not to drop a turd in the stew, but haven't some Loungers had issues with packaging from this vendor? I'm not saying I won't pursue a black Campdraft (!), but I might offer to pay more and have it shipped in a proper hat box if that is not their SOP.

I have ordered four hats from them over the past 3 years and I thought the packaging was quite good each time. The only problem I had was that I ordered a 60cm stylemaster from them, and it was too small. Although it was only $17 to have it shipped to the Colorado, it cost almost $30 to sent it back for a refund. So, you have to be sure you know the sizing of each type of hat. For example, in the campdraft, I am a perfect 60, but the stylemaster is a definite 61cm. Had to learn that the hard way since there are no Akubra dealers anywhere near me.

I'm on the fence about it, too.... I have 2 new hats and 3 refurbs coming from Mike Miller and I'm thinking if I feel the need for yet another hat I'll be getting one of his lightweight Tonak rabbit or beaver blend fedoras.

I can’t believe Akubra killed off the taupe color Campdraft - a great color. If I had known, I would have ordered 3 of them and stored them away. Other than going to a funeral or wearing black tie, can’t imagine ever wearing a black hat.

I'm pretty bummed too that Akubra is discontinuing a bunch of hats. I lucked out and grabbed the last 3 Heritage Campdrafts that hatsdirect had, only because I emailed trudy. I guess the d/cd hats are going the way of vintage, need to get used or new old stock if you can ever find any. Otherwise, like the others I am thinking of moving on to custom.

I don't think the Taupe Fawn Camp Draft is discontinued. The Hattery has plenty in stock. I think the only colors we're losing with the discontinuation of the Campdraft Deluxe are Moonstone and Cedar Brown. Those are great colors, and I got 2 of each before they vanished. But my Taupe Fawn Camp Draft in Imperial felt is still one of my favorites.

Sorry to see Moonstone go. It has happened before that some CD colors have been discontinued such as the Mid Brown & Glen Gray. They rarely come up in the market now.
