Does anyone know where a Taupe/Tan Campdraft size 59 can be had? I have checked the usual suppliers in both the US and Australia. Everyone is out and mfg. is down.

One of my New Years Resolutions is to find & replace a campaign style ribbon for this Glen Gray Camp Draft to restore it as original. The Glen Gray CD was gray with strong blue undertones. Glen Gray was not available for long in the CD. Always looking for original examples & pics if anyone has any.

Ready for the ribbon.

Hi everybody. For those of you interested in a black campdraft, hats-by-the-100 is selling them at the moment. Cheers.
Thanks for the heads-up!

Not to drop a turd in the stew, but haven't some Loungers had issues with packaging from this vendor? I'm not saying I won't pursue a black Campdraft (!), but I might offer to pay more and have it shipped in a proper hat box if that is not their SOP.

There has been reports of hit and miss with packaging and customer service.

I had ordered a Banjo Paterson from Hats-by-the-100 and it was sent in a plain cardboard box.
Not a hat box with a ring and the usual packaging that I expected.
When I ordered the hat their site said that the hat comes in a special heritage collection box.
The hat arrived in a damaged box that had been torn open at one corner about the size of my fist, the hat was dirty and the brim was wavy all around.
At that time I did not know how to shape a hat like the master hatter I am today so I had to bring it to The Hatter in Toronto and and paid to have my new hat cleaned and shaped.
What made me mad was when I contacted Hats by the Hundred and complained the response I got was "do you want us to ship you the box"
Why would they have put a hat loose in a box with out anything to hold it in place or even a bag around it and ship it Internationally.
Now let me be fair, this was a long time ago, but to this day I won't buy from them.
I have bought 10 more Akubra hats since then and not one from Hats by the Hundred.
Customer service is everything.
Stuff happens but if you don't make it right then that's the real problem.
Its been at least 15 years since then so I wouldn't rely on my post as to how things are today but I have only had the very best service from Hats Direct and Everything Australian.

I got curious, did some searching around other Akubra sellers, and found that Australian Gear is also carrying the Campdraft in black.

Has anyone ever purchased hats from Australian Gear? If their customer service/packing has a better reputation than Hats-by-the-100, I'd be purchasing from them.

But now I seem to remember that they may not be shipping to the USA during the pandemic. I guess there is more research to do.

I thought Australian Gear and Hats by the Hundred was the same company.

I ordered three Akubra’s from Hat by the Hundred and the shipping was lousy. I had a Balmoral that was destroyed. They also don’t try to make it right when you inform them and they make you jump through a few hoops before they accept the return. The most recent hat I bought from them (after saying I wouldn’t buy from them again) was a Kentucky Rancher. It was packed marginally and still didn’t come in a real hat box. It wasn’t damaged, but the packaging didn’t inspire confidence. Still, I’m looking at that black Campdraft. I wonder if David Morgan will carry it when they get their Campdrafts in.

Same company,
Australiangear.com We are owned and operated by Spectrum Online Pty Ltd, Australian Business Name( ABN # 19 099 012 647 )
Hats By The Hundred (TM) is owned by Australian Business Number ( ABN # ) 19 099 012 647 Spectrum Online Pty LTD.
So it would appear that they are the only place to get the Campdraft in black.

Thanks folks! That answers that. And I'm alongside Brent in regard to waiting to see what DM will carry.
