I am a size 59, and I have found 59 in the Campdraft and Cattleman to be a tad large such that I need a foam insert, but in the Fed IV and Balmoral, it was perfect. Since straw is less stretchable and the Balmoral is pretty stiff, it's probably better not to buy a size too small in the Balmoral. I do really like the Balmoral so far though.

Yeah , being 58.5 cm the 59 seem Huge . I add foam , then they shrink , pretty much , to fit . Usually ; the Bushman seemed to shrink more , but does okay with the retainer , or a stretch , if it snugs up . I've always heard to over stretch if a Hat is too snug , then it should be too big , but in 2 hours , more or less , it will fit and be comfortable .

That was nice to find Trudi , and Hats Direct to have that (sad its rare , today) quality of Honest Customer Service , makes it a pleasure you know you can trust them . *Hoo Yah* for Hats Direct !

I was in downtown Seattle last weekend with the kid and decided to stop in to Byrnie Utz. With my head measuring 59.5cm, I tried on both a 60cm and 61cm and found the 60cm to be too snug. I walked out with the size 61. I may see about shimming it while it breaks in, but it's not terribly loose to where I really need to worry about it either. I think once it breaks in, it should become a very comfortable hat.

It started as an open crown. Not being experienced with shaping, I had the sales associate do the bash on it for me before I left the store.

Really nice bash. I guess that is what happens when you leave it to the pros!

Waiting at the office for me when I got in this AM. Third Akubra, second CD. The Bluegrass Green, as others has attested, a very nice color. I can see this being worn a lot.

I wet it down a bit with a spray bottle and put a diamond in it.

Still a little big on my noggin, but I'm certain that will take care of itself with some wear. It was fitting even better until I put the diamond in. I'll wear it for my lunchtime walk - that ought to help.

It's softer than my SBCD, not as soft as my fedora. It actually took a dry bash fairly well, but I decided to wet it down a bit here at the office and let it dry itself into shape.

Hey , you wear the Hat (Camp Draft) . Do you know where the name comes from ? Its a Sport in Australia , Campdrafting . Horses , and Cattle . Some might be interested (some not) ...

Tough ! But its the most popular and fastest growing Sport in Australia . Now when someone asks , you'll know . YAY !

Cool Hat and Pic Chris ! You know I've noticed my Taupe CD the Crown is getting Really Nice and Soft . Like I can do just about anything with it now . I had heard Moon say his Imperials and BGG especially , in his experience were softer . But mine came , I wouldn't say stiff , but ... kind of like it needed extra (If you know what I mean) , but now especially the crease , it will do anything . I can't imagine after a really good rain soaking , I'm pleased . I know Mm25 has one on Order I think , along with a Sandton Fawn Woomera . (My Sand Woomera is any day , still ... waiting) (But it hasn't been long really) . Are the Silver Belly CDs Imperial felt like that over time ? ... Great Dimensions , tough to beat ! Especially for the money ... .

... nice shirt , too , btw ...
