I know this has been asked before on this thread, but does anyone have any pics of a Bluegrass Green or Mid-Brown Campdraft? All the other colors this hat is available in are too light for me, but I'm still a little unsure about waiting ~3 months for a hat. I'd prefer pics with natural sunlight lighting conditions, but any are fine. Thank you all for your time.

That's the other thing I've gotta learn to do: make a diamond bash. Nice work. . . . .nice phone, too.

Thanks, it's not too hard to do once you get the hang of it. I must prefer it to a C crown/ teardrop.

My other Camp Draft is is a 5 point crease, kind of a modified diamond. There's a thread on this shape called "Five Point Posse."

I know that there are some Bluegrass Green around, but I can't remember who posted them. Mid-brown is also on my Gottahavelist, & here's why:

@ Mr. 'H': I'm going to have to try my hand at a diamon, either on my CD or my OR, and soon.

Yeah, I remember that photo. With my Federation completely screwed (the bash, at least. The hat itself is bulletproof) I've been looking for a brown hat. The Akubra Squatter that has now become my favorite hat has me favoring wider brims now, but the crown is just a tad short (causing it to have a "Fancy Aussie Work Hat" appearance rather than a "Wide-Brimmed Fedora" look). Thus, I need a brown wide-brimmed hat with a tall crown and a bound brim, and nothing I've seen (of Akubras, anyway) fits the bill more than the Mid-Brown Campdraft. Also, I love the Willow Green color of my Squatter, and wouldn't mind having another green hat around, ergo the Bluegrass Green Camdraft.

Flash makes them lighter than they actually are...

Damn! GTD, way to go.
You just answered my two queries and more. The Glen Grey still looks a bit lighter than Carbon Grey, and the Willow Green is definitely the same color as my Squatter, and the Mid-Brown looks great.

I need to sell my old violin, ocarinas, and banjo on Ebay, see if I can grab up enough cash to get me a Campdraft...

Thanks, you've been a great help.

At your service... The Mid-Brown in direct sunlight has an olive tint to it but indoors it looks like a rich brown. I also have a Silver Belly & if for some unthinkable reason I was MADE to have only 1, it would be the Glen Grey. It is lighter than the Carbon Grey.

Thanks GTD. That's odd about the Mid-Brown though. Usually, with my brown hats, the green tints show up indoors and the hats look brown in sunlight

As for Yeps, I just started an account, and I'm still trying to figure this stuff out. I may just have my brother help me. I haven't yet listed anything as when I tried to pay the fees for listing, Ebay gave me an excuse along the lines of "We are performing maintenance and apologize that this function cannot be performed right now."

At any rate. I went through many different instrument during my childhood and found that I hold myself to too high of an expectation, and thus have little patience for the years it would take to master these instruments. My current banjo, however, is a joy to play and in clawhammer style depends mostly on muscle memory. I love playing it, even though I can only play two songs.

If you really want to know, my ID is "angryshoemaker". Yeah, do not ask...:D

I particularly like the olive tint in toobacat's mid-brown CD. I can't tell if yours has the same tint or not, GTD, but in toobacat's pictures, it looks like an ollive mottling, for lack of a better word. I had a mid-brown Stylemaster for a couple of years, and had hoped that it would have the same mottling, but it didn't. It was a nice, rich brown, but it didn't have the olive in it.

IndyCop had some photos of his Mid-Brown CD at one time earlier in this thread that showed the olive-ness in the sunlight.... have to search later... [huh]

Quite the collection GT - and I must say this style suits you perfectly. I'll bet there are a lot of people in Cherokee County, Georgia who wonder enviously where you get your hats! :eusa_clap

Thanks Mr H. Most of the folks in Cherokee Cty see me in my western hats the majority of the time & most think the CD's are westerns too.... [huh]

They look great. To be fair, though, even AKUBRA lists the Campdraft as a country hat. A little shaping and it can assimilate the fedora style, though, as you've done here.

Open Roads have always been country hats in my book & creases don't change that. A tycoon crease is a teardrop, front pinch crease & don't make a hat a fedora anymore than any other crease. A country hat is different than a western hat as well. JMHO

Nix that...another green hat is not in the cards. As a beginner, I need to cover as much ground as possible, color wise, to see what I like.
Akubra's dark brown is too dark for me. Carbon grey is nice, but the Sydney is just too damn small, willow green squatter is perfect, but is more of a weather hat due to taper and high amount of curl in brim (plus the color matches my rain gear)...

...So, it's either a Taupe Fawn Campdraft or a Glen Grey Campdraft...hmmm. Which one will look better on my pale skin...I'm thinking glen grey. Damn! If only I had a tan lol lol lol :rage: .
