Nice one, Jeff, and the good work on the crease, too. I'm waiting for the weather to cool down here so I can wear my Moonstone CD. I'm actually hoping the 50% chance of rain in the forecast for tomorrow increases so I can wear it in the rain!

Thanks guys! It's incredibly comfortable and now I understand what everyone means by rugged felt. This color is really cool, too.

Bowlerman that is a really nice hat. I love the crease. Can you or anyone else who has the BG CD tell me about the green color? I am looking to buy one. I have looked at all the images of the bluegrass color CD and each one seems to be different. Must be a hard color to capture. Is it more of a John Deere/ leprechaun green or a Coleman campstove / earthy green? Is there some other comparison green color you can point to that resembles this bluegrass color? I currently have two other Akubra models in the santone fawn and was thinking maybe another color would be good option. I am afraid this bluegrass may be to flashy for me though.

Nice bash Jeff.

I'll have to post my Blue Grass Green CampDraft. Which has quickly become my favorite all around hat. I can typically be found in denim or Chinos, and when its colder, leather jacket. This is a really good Work cloths hat or walk in the woods hat. Not a dressy color.
I have a close pinched teardrop and an unintentional asymmetrical cowboy curl on mine. I had it snapped up all around, and got caught in a monsoon on a short hike. It drooped on the left side to drain, and I left it because it looks like the Johnny Depp picture that was up on here a few months ago. I can't believe how there were no adverse affects to the felt from the complete soak.

Here's one the wife took of me going down the slide at a fall festival at a local farm. The kids did it, so I did too. Oh, and I always have coffee also and sometimes a toothpick. Probably not good on a slide.

It is not a flashy green at all. I wore it hunting. This photo shows lots of natural greens.

milliedog, I think you're right on the money, though it can look a little more washed out in photos than in person. I'd say it was very slightly mossy. You can be certain, however, that it's very versatile and definitely not flashy.

gtdean, WOW!

Thanks, Bowlerman. Based on GTDean's picture and your cattleman crease I ordered one last night from Sam at everythingaustralian. Should be here tomorrow.

Milliedog - I have the bluegrass and its very subdued I think.. What colour did you go for?

Went with the bluegrass. It came today as expected and, yes, it is very subdued in color. I will have to get used to the taller crown though. When I first put it on with no crease my first thought was, I can't wear this, it has to back. But I got it creased and I think I can get used to it. Cattleman crease w/ Aussie style tipped down brim front and rear.

milliedog, if you give it a little time you will get used to the crown height and lower crowned hats will start to look wrong! Congratulations on your new CD. I know I love my Bluegrass Green.

Thanks Roger. I will give it time. Everyone else on here looks great in their CD, it stands to reason I should at least look OK in it, hopefully...maybe....

Slightly off topic...but not entirely...were you bow hunting? Here in NC, hunters have to wear blaze orange during gun season. I’m not sure about during bow season. I think orange vests satisfy our statute, but most of us just wear blaze orange caps. I've thought about wearing my fawn (no pun intended) Camp Draft, but I would then have to wear a blaze vest or jacket.

This is very true. Nowadays a low or tapered crown looks wrong to me. :D

AF,
South GA but I put on a camo hoodie after getting back to camp, so my blaze orange vest is already shed.

Give it some time. After wearing my dark brown Fed IV for the last five years, I'm still trying to get used to the slightly wider brim and much lighter color of my Campdraft that I received three weeks ago.
