I just received my Akubra Campdraft Silver Belly ordered way back in March, based on recommendations from several on the list, and I cannot overstate what a terrific hat and terrific value it is. It is a solid, gorgeous modern open road type hat that is less than $100 shipped, and it fits me out of the box despite my long oval head. I'll post pictures but in the meantime thanks to all who sang the praises of this hat. To all who don't own one and are looking for the best value on the market, buy one if you can stand the long wait.

Where'd you purchase it?

Where'd you purchase it?

I also got mine in Tawny Fawn and love it...and would like another in Silver Belly.

Although mine is already sporting a 1 1/2" vintage rust coloured ribbon.

Enjoy it there wear well.

Really, where's you purchase from?

Here are the pictures.

Three months is a long wait. I would love someone to post pics of the Fawn and Green/Blue.

Nice

Yeah... it's a helluva hat for the money, isn't it? I have one in Silverbelly, too, and it was well worth the wait. You were a little luckier than me on the long oval fit, but I was able to work with mine until I got a really good fit.

I think the closest I'll come to owning some type of OR clone will be a Camptown. That silver belly is gorgeous!:eusa_clap

The felt is a little heavier than my ORs and OR clones. It's a little stiff out of the box, but can be worked with.

The Campdraft is my go-to hat if it's cool and rainy.

Thats a good looking lid. I already own a Campdraft in Tawny Fawn and have a silverbelly on order, I can't wait for it to arrive. The tawny fawn is my go to hat, it's softening up nicely now.

That is a great looking hat! I have been loving the pictures of Akubra's tawny fawn hats, and was thinking about buying another Federation in that color, but after looking at some of the Campdrafts around here I think I may go that route instead.

But the silverbelly looks durn good, too. Which to choose?

Having grown up with Akubra's everywhere, I'm constantly amazed at how popular and well liked they are outside of Australia :)

Whereas, Having grown up with Akubra's everywhere, I'm constantly amazed that anyone wears anything else.
The price compares very favorably the quality is fantastic and they last a very long time. Although with the Aus$ and the US$ being on par these days there may not be so much of a cost saving there for American buyers. The Poms however still get a good exchange rate.

(On longevity my father has switched to leather hats but he treats his fur felts very badly, and only ever owns one hat at a time which he wears every day)
