Pretty much. I don't know what else to buy. I do but I don't have the money needed for it. I've seen pretty much everything and am back to that point if it serves the purpose & is in the style I like, it's okay.

We have lost a brother... It was fun whilst it lasted.

yeah, right, this is what I say every time I order a new jacket or new pair of shoes: that's the last one, I promise. Usually it takes 3 to 4 days before I start looking at new candidates.
It's like the "farewell tours" the big rock/metal bands announce every 2 years.

Is that even legal on TFL? I am pretty sure you have to join the Style forum for these elbows!

I even got kicked from there straight to stylezeitgeist dot com. Other alternative was Reddit but I'm still not suicidal.

Lol, true. I'm looking at other stuff even more than ever now, just that nothing had screamed SELL EVERYTHING AND BUY ME for quite a while. So I wait.

Welcome to my turf brother! Like i said in the cool photos thread I’ve seen so many black and brown leather biker jackets I’m through the looking glass and suddenly want a velour peacoat. I don’t know how I got here but hey I’m not alone now.

I'm obsessing over 4000 Euro 10+oz leather pants right now which I'll never buy in my life so no, you're definitely not alone. XD

No, it's not. I mean, sure, this ridiculous notion is how we all got here but so far I don't think it has quite worked out for anyone. XD

what's that? I should look for a HWM/A2? :p

But fr, I wanted the perfecto so people will go "you know Blob? Yeah that guy with the Fonz jacket!" Idk if I'm making sense lol

People collects things they like, there are worse but less expensive hobbies, like drugs tho XD

I emailed Schott to try and get them to do overnight on the jacket, earliest I can get it is Monday if they say. Worst case, 3 weeks.

Also idk if it's just turning 30 but everything I buy now are nice quality things I intend to keep forever. So this is it for me lol I guess I don't have that itch like y'all do. Isn't that why we're here? Get THE jacket, that one that we will keep forever?
That's exactly what I thought when I bought my first Thedi earlier this year. "This is the best jacket I will ever own and I will still wear it 25 years from now."

Well I still have it and I still wear it, occasionally. That is when I'm not wearing one of the other 'grail' jackets I bought since :)

Just echoing the other opinions. I told myself I’m getting this one jacket I love and will wear forever. I still own it and wear it. In rotation with all the others. Then all the others I’ve bought and sold or traded. All the others I still want. I’ve just let go of 3 pairs of boots and 3 jackets. Trying to sell a 4th. I told myself it’s time for just the essentials. To get real wear on my stuff and make them mine. So far so good. But ask me again in a month or two where I’m at? Ha

I’m no expert here, but four months wait for a jacket you’ll be wearing for 40 years isn’t that bad. But I would think the key difference is sizing - unless the off the rack Schott fits you really well, you’d be better getting Aero make something that does fit you well. Otherwise you’ll end up selling it here and upgrading later on.
I think the issue with this logic is that if the wait puts you out of the season where you can wear the jacket it’s more if a 9 month wait. Also with custom there are tons of stories on TFL where the owner just felt the fit was a little off and quickly moved it on. 4 months later and no jacket. If you can find apples and apples i think OTR is the way to go.

True. And to back this up a bit. Don’t forget this forum is filled with obsessives. Once you reach this level sometimes we agonize and complain about things no average human would ever notice. Literally something could be off by 1-2cms and people will not like that. You think anyone else would ever even think or see that? So if OTR fits go that way every time and save the money and hassle. Even if it’s not 100%TFL perfect, they are usually still perfect in reality.

I went back and re-read your first post. I did not see actual motorcycle useage listed in it. No critisim here, but that would have influenced my vote toward Schott. Haveing owned and worn all manner of jackets and makers, Schott is an excellent choice for those who actually ride. You will not regret it!

I stopped riding ~ 10 years ago, around the time the rise of the almighty text message on the ever-present smart phone started to take over the roadways. I still had never heard of Aero Leathers at that time, but had ridden in Schott & Vanson jackets quite a bit. I think you are making a great choice, and I hope we get to see photos of it (and the bike) when you recieve it!

I own both a Schott 618HH (2015) and a Black FQHH CXL from Aero (2017). There is a huge difference in leather. The Schott is much thinner, lighter and butter-soft to the touch (though stiff), completely dyed-through, that will always remain black. Creases nicely and shows nice grain. At areas of wear it tends to lose the shiny top layer.
The FQHH CXL is significantly thicker, heavier and stiffer. It gradually turns to grey and at areas of wear it shows the brown leather colour. The patina it shows (please don't mistake wear for patina) is far more prominent (and easier to get) than the Schott.
Take the price into consideration as well, the Schott's jackets here in the EU are far more expensive than in the US.

That third shot of the sleeve is where the debate ends for me. And it ends in Aero's favor. while the HH from Schott looks nice, it simply can't compete with CXL.
