That is just "wrinkles" or "wear".
Patina is actually when the leather starts to burnish and get really cool looking. It is a mix of wrinkles, oxidation, and color variation. Think of it like your leather "tarnishing" with time.
The black coming off is what we tend to generally call patina, or even "tea-core" but if you are a purist, it's a mis-nomer.
This is patina:

And patina can't be faked. You can't beat 80 years old patina. It's just impossible.

I think it’s just fun and gleeful to say “patina”. Same with calling CXL horsehide “FQHH”, while failing to mention that most horsehide leather is from the front quarter. I think we do this knowing they’re not fully complete or representative, but are just FL slang. It’s an affectionate thing. Chromexcel horsehide has such a unique reputation that it is allowed to bend the rules a bit. As long as no knowkedge is lost, I have no objection to incorrectly calling age/wear “patina” either.
