I think they're out of kudu - there's a rough-and-ready one on the sale page. I think you could order it in a different hide though.

The last ones they sold were the "rough & ready" ones, which denoted that the hide was a little variable. It was the last of the Kudu they had.

And the ones they had before that were sold off at a discount, so maybe it didn't sell so well....

I want a Pioneer when I can afford it. Next jacket! I want one in black, though, which rules out the Kudu anyhow.

If I were ready to buy an Aero ( which, unfortunately I'm not) I would sit tight and wait to see what comes out next month. If this jacket is a sneak peek, there could be some great new options on the horizon.. This particular jacket stopped me in my tracks.. Wow, I do like it.

And you want one in black goat, which rules out Aero. So what now? :D

Heh, touche. I would have loved to have gotten Aero's goat in black owing to the quality of my goat Aeros (both seal brown), but it's not a deal breaker. I'll likely have to decide between fqhh and the steer. Steer is tempting, given the price differential, and I have a couple of horse jackets, so it's not the novelty it might otherwise have been. We'll have to see.

Yeah, it looks like Aero are on the cusp of a new, really creative period. I'm looking forward to seeing how they expand the range.

AL's black goat is very good. As good as Eastman's. If you feel you can go over to the dark side for a bit.:)

Well, as I said, the hide isn't that important. All other things aside, I've not been impressed by the fit of the ALs of which I have seen photos, and the "vintage style with a modern fit" approach puts me right off. Storses for courses, and all that. ;)

Well I'm not championing them by any stretch. In fact I've had my issues with Amanda's ideas of fit in the past. But at the offer price I couldn't resist, and the jacket I bought from them is a very good fit. Most of my Aeros have been 42 and can be a bit tight in the shoulders but fit everywhere else. But this is a 44 and is a truer fit for me. Measuring the same as my 42 HWM chest and waist, but with more shoulder room.

Fit is a very subjective thing and everybody obviously has their own preferences. Still, I've seen numerous photos on this forum by people who have demanded a "very fit" jacket when their bodies are anything but fit. Makes for an odd choice. I always wonder how honest the customer has been with the builder in those circumstances. Some styles simply work better for some individuals than they do for others.

No truer words spoken. I kept blaming the jackets when I was overweight. Nw that I've lost weight. I'm bummed that I'm not built like I was 20 years ago. Fact is that the jacket, if cut properly. Can only look as good as the mannequin it's on :)Of course, some of us have that other issue from the neck up that no jacket can fix lolSo I just show the jackets.

Yep, the Pioneer is down as we've no Kudu left but it will be back up once we've had time to get it re-made in another hide and photographed! Soon :) If anyone wants to order in the meantime, just email me.

Holly, would you advise against Steer or FQHH in the Pioneer - does it require a softer hide for that back pleat to 'work' properly?

Horsehide would be better for this one, we've only really got a stock of the super heavy chrome tanned steer now, and that would probably be excessively heavy for this style.

Love the Prince Charles (sorry, playing catch-up here). That design would look marvellous, it seems to me, with some sort of d-pocket arrangement or at least a small patch pocket where the zip is... Can't wait to see the new designs!
