hi all
Just wondering if any one can advise on sizing of an aero CR/Sheene jacket.
I am 6’1”with a 50inch chest and 43 inch waist/hips.
As I am not in a position to try fit jacket prior to purchase I would appreciate some advise from those of you who may be able to assist.
I was told a 48 would be a trim fit and a 50 more relaxed, can anyone confirm this through experience.
Regards
Mario

I don't know how my experience translates to bigger sizes, but i wear a 42 in most other brands and all my Aeros are size 40.
IMO Aero tends to oversize the pit to pit pretty consistantly.

Remind me: A "Sheene" is the Board Racer (not Kaff racer) with collar, right?

The pattern of the BR is VERY slim fitting. A wear a size 42 in most Aeros (incl. Kaff Racer), but need a 44 in the BR (and all other "premier" patterns).

You have it backwards. The Sheene is based on the Cafe Racer while the Seven is based on the Board Racer. Based on OPs measurements, I think the Sheene would be the right model due to its more dramatic taper from chest to waist.

i would recommend looking at the sample measurements on Thurston Brothers website. They list recent jacket P2P, shoulder and waist measurements on the Aero Stock page. This should give a good confirmation of the correct size.

So your ptp is 25, I would add 1.5- 2 inches to that for slim fit, or 2.5-3 for more relaxed.

I have a 21 ptp and my size 40 is about 22.75. It is very snug just on the line of being too much. Depending on leather type, you can push it a little bit. CXL will stretch a little bit over time, but will take a while. Something like Vicenza or Baldassi will be more stretchy at the start. But don't go crazy with that. We're talking about adding some more comfort level and a little give.

Long story short, the general rule about going down 1 size for snug, and same size for relaxed is about right. But keep in mind that Aeros do have a range, so read the details.

Correct - and it's best to utilize Thurston Brothers as stated. Carrie knows how to fit a person as well as anyone out there.

With Carrie's fit jacket program, it's difficult to not get a good fit.

A reminder: The p2p measurement is used only for jackets. On a person, the circumference of the chest should be measured—all the way around the chest. Otherwise too much error could be induced.

Thanks to you all for your assistance.
Problem is I am in New Zealand and unable to try fit jackets and the like so have to work with measurements alone.
What I was hoping for was that some out there with 50 inch chest could assist by telling me what size they wear and as to the fit.... as in trim of relaxed.
I look forward to your response

Oh, hey that changes things....

I'm a Size 42 / Size 44 in CR's from Aero. I would reccommend to E-maiil Direclty to Aero (Holly or Denny) and they can help you out. These are Slim-fitting jackets ith a pretty noticable taper in the Body (2 and 4-pocket Cafe Racers) The Board Racer is more straight cut and does not taper as much.

My physical dimensions: 6' 1" (185 cm) tall and 195 lbs (88.5 kg), Size 36 waist jeans

Sheene = "Cafe Racer" + Highwayman Collar.

Seven = "Board Racer" + Highwayman Collar.

(Sometimes people have ordered with an August collar, but standard Sheene is the Highwayman collar. I do think the August collar looks pretty cool paired with this style of jacket.)
