Aero Selkirk Jacket

I love everything about this jacket except the front pockets. They seem clunky and bottom heavy and give the jacket kind of an amateurish look. Then again, maybe I am missing some kind of nostaliga thing. Military? No idea. The back of the jacket is striking, as is the basic cut.

If you don't care for the cargo pockets you can always tell Aero you want the slash pockets instead! It's really just a Half-Belt with some tweeks and mods.

The Selkirk jacket pictured on e-Bay is the actual jacket I ordered from Mark, and sent back because I ordered it in Russet goat and it came in Seal by mistake. I just received my re-order (in Russet goatskin) and it is a beautiful jacket. Very satisfied with the results. Breaking it in every day wearing it for work. Not looking for any credit, but that's my design! Actually kind of flatured he thought is was nice enough to put it on line.

I wish it were cold here (I just moved from upstate NY). Instead I am dealing with pathetic 50-60 F temperatures, and I even wore just a T-shirt while working outside yesterday. These are not proper temperatures for getting use out of my winter jackets.

But I digress... I look forward to seeing the pics of your wonderful jacket. I particularly like the full-length wind flap, bi-swing back, and side cinches.

My Aero Selkirk, I never seen many pictures on the web of this model. One of my favorite none motorcycle jackets in my coat room.

This thread started in 2012, not long before Will Lauder left Aero and all that followed. Ken introduced into the line aornud 2013, if memory serves, a jacket called the Aero Royale (a recreation of a British 30s design) which is similar in overall look, if lacking the halfbelt back - http://www.aeroleatherclothing.com/product-detail.php?id=2238. I would venture to suggest that should you want a halfbelt with the G1 pockets, it wouldn't be a stretch for Aero to add the to a half belt, should you ask nicely.
