I live in a semi rural area that's 150 miles at least to a city like NY or Boston. If I was closer to those I could go try out any of these jackets and decide for myself. I know I can't really rely on the web, I've bought things that looked great online and were no good on me, then I end up payind $40 to try on a jacket! I'm new to this forum but it sounds like you guys know whut's up so I want to hear where you would rank these 3 jacket makers. I recently got a Schott 141 which is a great jacket that I love but I want another one w/a collar. I don't want to f around anymore I just want to spend what I need to spend to get a jacket that's well made, great looking, and will last me for the rest of my life.

PS Do Aero Highwaymen run true to size?

I'm not experienced with Vanson, but Aero would do the job, even if the HWM is a little bigger than a 141.
Alternatively you can get a Schott Tracker in horsehide.

If you want another jacket w/a collar, you are limiting your choices. Aero's Cafe Racer allows less margin of error since there are no straps to customize the fit. Unfortunately, the Forrest Gump rule applies when one orders a jacket from the internet: "Life (or an online jacket) is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."
