Going back to the OP's question, I have the LHB with button cuffs (sorry, no pics) and it looks (IMHO) fine and I like them a lot. In fact, they're usually the first detail about the jacket that people notice, especially if I'm sitting across a table from someone. I think they suit the details, such as the pocket flaps, of this particular style.

Hmm, interesting. A long half belt with strap cuffs, could be a nice look. Do you happen to have a full jacket photo?

I've a LHB with standard sleeves and storm cuffs. I HATE button cuffs, they're devilishly designed and catch on EVERYTHING! Unless you take care to keep the flat they eventually get turned back on themselves which is annoying as hell! I'll never order em.

Although not exactly answering your question, this might be relevant. I love the look of button cuffs, so had them added to a custom barnstormer that I had made. It was not entirely successful as the profile of the sleeve took on a distinct carrot shape as the sleeve had to slim considerably from the shoulder to accommodate the slimmer cuff. I also had a LHB with storm cuffs and really liked the way the cuffs creased up.
If I were buying a zip up jacket now, and wanted button cuffs (which I do), I would go with one of the slimmer jackets. Maybe add pockets to a Plainsman?

That's what I was getting at re fit - slimmer profile jackets, buttons would look good; too broad, and they might look odd. I think they'd look odd on a HWM, for instance.

I worked with Thurston to do a longer LHB (the Plainsman was too slim for me). I opted for a strap and buckle cuff for something different. I happened to have a picture that Wade sent me when the jacket arrived.

That is very cool.

I don't have one, but I'll see if I can talk my significant other into taking one tonight. Fortunately, she's understanding of my jacket addiction. I did make a mistake though. In looking over my emails with Thurston we modified a 1930s slim fit half belt rather than the LHB to make my "Plainsman".

The button cuff doesn't look strange on my Teamster, which is a similar pattern to the LHB except the latter is zipped rather than buttoned. Having said that, I would tend to go with an American cuff if I were to order a LHB since that's the way it was designed. However, IMO either would work fine. [huh]

I think my 1950's button up Teamster with the button cuffs looks splendid, but also wonder whether the intent of the LHB with zip and American cuffs was a slightly more modern look.:

I don't know if this is a fair comparison, but my Dustbowl, like the Original Hercules, is representative of the 1930's slim and neat style:

The lighting doesn't do the leather justice but it should give you a feel for the cuffs relative to the rest of the jacket.

These classy jackets are making me reconsider my next Aero choice. The wind of the Dustbowl is growing in intensity...

The strap cuff looks good on that style. Still not sure how'd they blend in or clash with the front cargo pocket design of the LHB. Might be safe and just go for the american cuff, but I would like the ability to tighten them up since they're pretty wide cuffs as is.

I would agree that might look a bit busy. I went with them on the Plainsman because it is relatively simple. And because I share Worf's hatred of buttons. And because storm cuffs always seem good in theory but drive me crazy when wearing them.
