I'm 5'10" 175lbs, just south of SF. pit to pit is 20.5" (measuring from the vertical seam that hits the pit to the opposing one)

thanks man! the long sizing of the highwayman allows for a slimmer fit to avoid the boxiness of the highwayman style. If I could get a highwayman slim fitted like a 30s half belt by having gusseted shoulders I'd be happy. In fact if this jacket had them it would fit me like a glove without being restricting.
