Just another detail from Aero accountancy evidence. When it came to collecting cash owed to Aero, it went from 6.02 days in 2005, when sales were £610k to 24 days in 2011, when sales were £880k. At the same time, the length of time it took Aero to pay its creditors also rose, from 2.6 days in 2005 up to 35 days by 2011. This was seen as quite unusual.

That's a pretty dramatic cash flow swing. To be fair, the numbers in 2005 are incredibly short, but every industry has its own standards.

I think so. They use Chrome tanned, not CXL. I might be wrong. They were using the same CXL steer as far as I know.

This is something I struggle with a bit in understanding - in layman's terms, what is the difference between chromexel and chrome tanning? I'm sure I remember reading that my Schott 618 is chrome-tanned. I suppose I'm asking not about the technical processes (which have been discussed before), but what exactly is the difference from an end-product pov?

It's interesting how the market went there. Back around the time AL must have been set up, all anyone seemed to be interested in was Horween FQHH, but by the time AL had reached an understanding with Horween and gotten the variation of Horween horse they use, it seemed that the market had largely moved on and many other hides had become just as popular. I think goat seems to be the big one on the rise these days.

They're seems to be more interest in exotic Italian and Japanese hides also these days. Just the current trend. Choices and options are getting better. No one wants an entire collection of FQHH or goat jackets. A big win for aficionados who are more informed.

It's definitely a bonus to have a wider range of options. I love my FQHH jackets, but it's also nice to have the goat, bison, and steer. I always used to think it wasa shame, really, when a lot of other hides got overlooked due to the great FQHH. I think my next couple of jackets will be goat, then I might dabble with the Vicenza... I'll go back to FQHH for the Thunderbay and J106, but otherwise...

Reckon you could pull it off like Nic Cage? Back in the day, Steve Strange had a full length trenchcoat patterned snakeskin coat. (Boy George stole it from him during the Blitz Club era, and it later turned up being worn by the Steve Strange character in George's eighties-set musical, Taboo).

Really? Coz I'm looking at my wife's handbags, shoes...really? I had no idea. I know that LVMH (Vuitton, Hermes) have snake farms in Oz for this sort of thing.

For the benefit of younger members who did modern maths - Roman numeral jokes - C is 100 X is 10 L is 50, XL is 40 or mixing old and new X is multiply etc
