Sentencing is on May 29, sheriff said that "all options are open".
Whoah! The UK has sheriffs?!? Can they deputize people?
Sheriff of Nottingham...
But I thought that was just like, y'know, a legend...and stuff...
There are 3 levels of Courts in Scotland. The District Court deals with small fines, speeding tickets, that kind of stuff. Up from that you have the Sherrif Court, more serious cases, assault, major theft that kind of thing. At the top you have the High Court, murders and really complex cases. Sherrifs don't get Deputies but they do get Sherrifs Officers who serve Warrants.
