Can anyone chime in regarding A-1 collars? Will they ever fold over as they lose elasticity? Don't REALLY mind it, but I slightly prefer the collar folded down as opposed to straight up. I have resigned myself to sticking the collar loops into the botton hole; it keeps one side down! Small pins to keep the collar in place also do the trick without leaving noticeable holes.

Bumping my question...has anyone figured out how to get the knit collar to stay flat? I've noticed that buttoning the jacket up helps keep the collar in place, but it only stays like that for a limited time! I have also tried to hand-shape the knits but they too spring right back up. Any solution? Just keep wearing it? I know I can use decorative pins but still.

I had the Bronson A1 and with that you could either have the collar up or if you flipped it down then it would stay down flat, but I guess it depends on the knit though.

I have an ELC .50 cal A-1 and the collar knit sits very well flat.
I’ve also recently picked up another early second hand GW A-1. Thicker collar knit which folds less well.
A GW 37J1 with a varsity collar is on its way which is designed to sit upright.
