I'm with others who have said not to over think it. Black or OB are equally good options IMHO. I would be surprised if you even noticed it after a month.
I like stitching to blend in as much as possible, not stand out. I also find two-tone jackets to be gaudy as well.Hi folks,
I bought an Aero Ridley from Thurston Bros and am waiting for the fit jacket to arrive. The fit jacket for the Ridley is actually the Board Racer. I'm going with Black CXL FQHH and I need to decide if I want to specify contrasting stitching. Do any of you have opinions on this? And possibly photos of your jackets with or without contrasting stitching? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This is a big investment for me and I want to make sure I am informed about all the options. Thank you!
BTW, do any of you have opinions on the lining? I'm thinking brown alpaca. But some have written that their alpaca lining is itchy. This is mainly going to be a cool/cold weather coat.
My brown Alpaca isn't at all itchy to me. It is probably 6 or 7 years old by now. Never been itchy, but then it doesn't touch my bare skin.
Olive stitching
P.S.
Just had an email from ELC about their new releases for Autumn/Winter 2015 and on there there's their Werber "General Patton Edition" B-3. Russet leather. HH facings. A beautiful bullion patch. It's a spot-on reproduction of the original!
But the first thing I did was to look at the price.

Hey Peacoat, in what temps are you wearing the brown alpaca lined jacket? Fall/Spring or Winter? Thanks!
Roughwear (Andrew) slightly disagrees. Claiming the original General stars were bullion on the epaulettes (instead of leather) and for that price should be accurate.
