Hello, everyone. My name is Mal and this ^^^ is my new jacket. I can't wait for it to get here. I've never wished for a weekend to hurry up and pass until now. :)
Welcome Mal, congrats on jacket & weight loss. You don't need to repost all the photos that Carrie just posted...it is brutal scrolling on tablet & mobile browsers....just a hint since you are new to the place....

Thanks, gtdean. I've gone back and removed the quoted images. Thanks for the input.

I'm tired of forum hobbyists alienating Insurrection customers, and we won't have it any longer.

Insurrection sells to healthy, active, happy individuals who have a love for vintage fashion and motorcycling. We make design modifications to Aero, Vanson, and Schott pieces that help serve the motorcycle and vintage community to great extent. If you have a problem with Insurrection, then just call me, immediately, at 206-412-4349. This continued whining about Insurrection sickens both me and Wade.

Here are the facts--in the next three months, Insurrection is receiving almost 50 pieces from Aero. Insurrection is a trade partner with Aero and by hurting us, through this unproductive forum blather, you are hurting not only Insurrection, as an Aero trade partner, but Aero themselves. This is the last time an Insurrection customer should be made to feel uncomfortable in either continuing to post on the forum or to become a part of the forum at all (it has happened to many...most of our customers are no longer comfortable on this forum).

Not only does Insurrection offer special discounts to FL members, through FL specials and FL sales, we serve our customers as a shop that knows more about motorcycle apparel (safety, abrasion characteristics, fat contents, armor, fit, etc.) than anyone on this forum. If you want to dispute this, please keep in mind that I have personally fixed more vintage leather garments than you will ever see through any means of media in your lifetime and am on staff for four AMA teams as a race suit repair specialist.

We are not a boutique. Our hands get dirty, we keep our overhead low, and we sell what we buy. All of which allows us to remain financially viable in this troubled economy. We continue to carry Aero, even though we have FL members continuing to ask for our Aero measurements without ordering from us; who come to our shop, tape measure in hand, ready to measure out our Aero pieces; and even order jackets from us and then turn around and use those very specifications to order other Aero pieces directly from Aero. In addition, we have a fit guarantee for Aero, Vanson, and Schott orders from Insurrection without the risk of so many of the fit blunders that we read about every day on the FL. Our fit guarantee is in keeping with the consumer ethic of the 30s, 40s, and 50s, in that jackets are to fit well, but with the minimum amount of financial risk/waste to the customer. In terms of safety, for all of our Aero, Vanson, and Schott customers, we offer Cool Max undershirts with CE-approved armor in the shoulders, back, and elbows to cut down on the possibility of injury in the event of a fall on a bike.

Again, let me be clear, I don't want one more Insurrection customer to feel alienated or feel uncomfortable being a part of this forum.

If it's Wade you have a problem with, please call him at 206-550-3545. In the past, Wade invited a few FL members who attacked him on the forum, to personally call him and discuss their issues in the "real world." No one has yet to take him up on this offer, but it still stands. As of late, some of these members have been absent from the forum and we hope they are getting out into the real world and enjoying their incredible jackets, just as most all Insurrection customers do!

I, for my sins, Admin a forum site (nothing to do with FL).

If anyone threw their weight about on my forum, and dissed the forum and it's members like the included post, I would politely ask them to leave, as they are patently not happy with the forum.

Just my two cents

Is good advice for all of us, new and old!!!

Let me rephrase my response so that there is no misunderstanding of what I was trying to say, and in no way was I attempting to disparage anyone on the forum. I am certain that the same also holds true for gtdean48 as well. I think that many of us click on "Reply With Quote" so that we can link a response to a specific post but should not re-post photos as well, which takes up excessive space. I have been guilty of doing this as well but will, in the future, try to remember not to re-post photos.

Mal, I see that you are new to the FL. Part of our function is to encourage and advise each other, especially new members. Hence, I ask that you feel free to post pictures as soon as you receive your new jacket as we can all enjoy seeing what you receive.

I'd love to see your new jacket, and I think photos would do just the opposite in terms of people calling you a shill, as you put it.
Welcome to the forum, by the way!

Another thread transformed into an Insurrection Ad...and with the help of a new poster out of the blue..again.

Well, similar criticisms have been made of Aero customers' posts quite a few times on FL in the past few years. People get their jackets from all over, and talk up their purchases for all kinds of reasons. So, you know...

Also, virtually none of this product is actually Golden Age (although undeniably Golden Age-inspired, in the case of certain jacket styles). So, again, you know...

I suppose the difference is that this place tends to be a 'surgery' for Aero buyers/owners, rather than a shop front for their stock. They, in most cases Holly, don't sit here and advertise their wares. Rather, they try to soothe the fevered brows of those with orders pending etc.

From my perspective...a relevent issue raised has now been diverted to only an unscrupulous attack on a new member(by other members) with vendor outrage posted into yet another sales promotion.
A thread started about a member contemplating finalization of an Aero order was quickly transformed into another advertizement for someone else..and...by the vendor..themselves!
I'm sure the intent is to get customers into a great fitting jacket extraordinaire...but with the strong suggestion not to question some of the tactics used to get there(in some cases) along the way. It's not a discussion that requires 'off forum' contact...but only members here who have noticed an 'on forum' way of how things have seemed to be done/advertized in the past. Simple as that.
I'm sure 'we are not' talking about bad people here...but indeed those who are gracious and helpful when anyone becomes 'interested in their product'.
The idea that new members..or even actual customers are under assault here is just ridiculous.

HD, yours was one of the opinions that I relied on most when I was looking for my dream jacket. You most certainly seem to be one of FL's subject matter experts on leather jackets. That said, you intimated that I was a shill for Insurrection. When I told you my story in hopes that you'd realize I wasn't you continued with the indictment of Insurrection instead of bringing the conversation back to its original subject. You're just as guilty of this thread's transformation as anyone else.

I certainly don't feel assaulted, but my excitment has definitely been tempered by the outcome of this thread.

I don't consider myself a jacket expert...but have learned a little along the way and found what works for me. My concern leading up to this thread was finally questioning just what was 'real' and what was not. Something that has been brought up somewhat in the past...but always left 'unanswered'. There was no intention to dash your excitement or bring it on you personally.
Many here enjoy 'customers' from several jacket companies talking over their ideas for ordering new leather jackets...then the final plan realised. New jacket photos of the delivered goods adds to the enjoyment and helps shape other's ideas and desires.
In my view..this thread had turned before I decided to comment. If this happens to every Aero jacket thread..they will end up only a certain vendors thread.
No ..I surely didn't try to get the thread back on track. I plead guilty. I was more concerned about why and how they are taking this 'track'...and a little of past history maybe not noticed by some.
