Aero J-106--size up, down, or true to size?

I'm curious about the sizing on the J-106; some threads here say it's a slim fit, and sizing up would be sensible. Any thoughts appreciated!

I'm 42 and can pull off a 44 from certain makers but the J-106 in a size 42 was awfully large on me. Like a good three inches too roomy around the chest and waist. The size 40 was spot on. So from my experience, I would suggest that you do not size up.

In general whoever the maker is its best to tell them your measurements and take their advice. Aero Leather actually ask for your measurements before you order. If you follow the advice of anyone else you have no case if it doesn't fit.

^^Bingo^^ Interestingly enough I had a 40" and a 42" and both measured exactly the same at the chest and shoulders.

Aero can be all over the place but the difference on the two jackets that I have had was literally 3 inches. The 42 was stupidly too big!

Thanks, everyone! My question was rather academic--I have a wonderful Aero cafe racer that I'm delighted with, so I'm not looking for another jacket anytime soon--but I noticed that the accounts of the J-106 sizing were rather diverse, and that made me curious... ProteinNerd's point about the variation in Aero sizing could explain this, though!

I have a size 42 J106, and it's just right. Typically I wear a 44 in other styles of Aero, however my 4-pocket Cafe Racer is also a 42 and quite a bit more snug.
Thanks for Clarification, I need to post a review of my J106 soon, neat jacket. :)
