That’s the reason why I bought an Aero FQHH jacket! Just beautiful!
I am already looking for a second jacket but I don’t want to miss out any chance to wear my BR to achieve such results - a second jacket would reduce chances by 50% and thus double the break in time [emoji16]

I’ve never had issues with uploading photos. I use the Tapatalk app and it’s really straightforward to post photos.

Hi all,
new to the forum, but have been into leather jackets, esp. Aeros, for a while.
To the point, I have a similar, approx. 15 years old, nicely patinated HWM. Does anyone know what is the FQHH called in these, and does the hide come from Horween tannery as to date? If I remember correctly, the hide was never as dark as nowadays brown FQHH offering from Aero. It was as heavy and stiff/waxy as my newer Aeros in FQHH though.
Cheers

15 years ago isn't that long ago - FQHH by Horween was well established by Aero. Remember also that the same leather varies with each batch. I have seen soft FQHH and hard, intractable FQHH. Depends on the batch. Color varies too. I had a half-belt from 20ish years ago that was very stiff and waxy even after ten years of wear.

Thanks Seb, Aero-Horween-collabo has been there for decades indeed, and there are also rather remarkable variations between the batches.
I was just wondering whether there has been a somewhat tannish brown FQHH offering tilting towards Russet Vicenza instead of natural. That was pretty much my jacket was anew, quite far from the brown FQHH of today's range (below). Or is it just my old man's memory and/or different batches.

Edit. this is how the hide of my HMW looks today:

I avoid using the TFL uploader for that very reason.
I use Imgur or photobucket from my computer, no idea how they work from an iPhone.

Totally understand the convenience of using one of those services, though we do try to encourage everyone to use the on-site uploader for the simple reason that this preserves TFL content much better - we lost a lot of very useful photos on the site a year or two ago when Photobucket first monetised its basic offerings. (Reminds me - anyone know how to bulk-download from photobucket? I've been forced to pay for their services asI don't want to lose content I have on there, but can only find how to download one photo at a time??).

For anyone using Windows, it's pretty simple: just need to open the photo as normal, then click on the '...' at the top right of the menu bar, and select 'resize'. I'm sure for Apple there's a much more convoluted and, crucially, proprietary way of doing it. ;) I can't explain that as I've not used a Mac in anger since 1992.

^^ Ha! Nice. I use the Windows Snipping tool as well, works perfect for cutting photos down to internet friendy size.

For me its not about ease of upload but picture size.
I think the maximum size allowed by the on-site uploader is basically a waste of time, you can't see anything on these pictures! It might be ok if you use TFL on your phone, but to me being able to click on a pic and have a good resolution full screen is worth it.
If the maximum size was increased to a usable picture i would definitely do the switch, until then i will keep using imgur.

I did send you a PM a few months ago asking if there was a way to edit older posts as i wanted to update the image path but i think it never got to you.

Oops, sorry - that came in during a very busy period and I thought I had replied!

Short of it is that a mod could edit individual posts, but I don't think the software is set up to give that peermission to individuals. I find the on-site resolution generally fine, but then I don't tend to use somethnig bigger than a 12" screen.

Thanks, that must be it.

I am more than happy with my HMW in terms of the hide, but unfortunately the fit is not spot-on for me anymore. So how about ordering a new jacket in similar light brown FQHH?

Aero lists the hide simply as "brown" but I know you might have a choice to specify the tone. However, no one knows how much range you currently have ie. what kind of batches they have in, and whether they might have, say a light brown one in the near future. Of course if they have/order a lighter batch, they might also add a new tone to their Horween offerings but you never know.

Oh, and sorry for the thread-hijack.
