Aero Highwayman Cuffs Without Storm Cuffs

This is a question for those of you who ordered this specification. Where does the sleeve lining attach? Does it go all the way to the wrist, or does it end where the cuff stars? If the latter, is the cuff made of two layers of leather stitched on to one another, or is it a single layer? If you could post pics, that would be very helpful also! Thanks!

I had one Highwayman without storm cuffs and the sleeves were lined all the way to the end of the cuffs, though that was an older jacket. But I'm pretty sure they're still made the same.
HWM doesn't have a separate cuff, like the Half-Belt so there's nothing to attach the second layer of leather on to.

I'm surprised to hear that the lining tends to sag through. If a small surface like sleeve will let the lining sag, how does the large body lining fare? I have noticed that almost all Aero jackets have linings attached at the hem, with no leather strip at the bottom. So, do they sag over time and show through as well?

Another option is to order your HWM with the snap button cuff of the Halfbelt Deluxe model. Both the HWM and the HBD are 50s patterns, the cuffs are interchangeable on these.
This cuff can be made either textile lined as per standard or leather lined, i. e. with a double layer of leather.

Sleeve is lined right to the end and while there is a little sagging/ loosening / stretching I’ve never had the lining hang below the cuff in ownership of over 30 Aeros over 30 odd years of collecting.

Thanks. Are you saying the HWM (and also HBD) cuffs can be leather lined instead of fabric-lined? So the last few inches of the sleeve would not have any fabric lining, and will just have leather lining, like on the 1930s button cuff sleeves?

the HWM has a std American cuff and therefore cannot easily be fitted with a leather lined cuff (since it is a loose full sleeve lining and there is nothing to stitch the leather cuff lining to except the lining itself (like where the storm cuff would be stitched) which doesn’t sound like a great option tbh

The Highwayman I just picked up has storm cuffs and I agree that they are very effective at blocking wind and also holding in heat around the wrist openings. Very nice this time of year but I wonder how much I will like them come springtime.

Yes, I believe it’s original. As Carlos has pointed out though it does have wear along the bottom edge where it hits the belt, and some holes in the inside part where the adjuster buckles are. The fabric is great though. Almost like an old flannel shirt. Really soft and comfortable.
