Aero Hardware choices: which way to go

I had an old Aero (10years) and the brass zips had aged nicely. My dad used to make me polish the brass on his boat. If the zips are lacquered, try using some Never Dull wadding. It will eat through the lacquer and allow your brass to age properly and dull with your fingers' oils.

Would Never Dull be like our Brasso wadding in the UK ? I'd like to ensure my bright brass zips get to age gracefully. Anything else that would de-lacquer them without harming the goatskin ?

Maybe, not familiar with it. My fear of any "polishing liquid" is that it would ruin or stain the fabric and leather if not extremely carefully applied. Wadding doesn't seem to be as messy as you can use a small piece.

Now I am confused. When I ordered my Thunderbay I originally ordered it with antique then I was talked out of it saying it would look better if it aged naturally which now I am thinking may take a very long time. I have the opportunity to change the order to the antique. Any input gents?

Wade told me that neither the diamond-shaped Talon chest pull nor the Hookless main zipper was available in the antique brass. He suggested I go with the regular brass. This may be reason he thought you should get the standard brass.

I like the idea of using Never Dull, if it will get the lacquer off of the brass. I had thought about using fingernail polish remover, but didn't like the idea of getting it close to the leather.
