Aero Fit Jacket issue...

So I'm working in Afghanistan and finally decided to pull the trigger on the Aero Bootlegger that I've been drooling over for four years. The wonderful Carrie at Thurston has been a joy to work with and sent me a Highwayman to use as a fit jacket. It arrived right before Eid, and as a result I wound up with it for four days due to the holiday and mission readiness keeping me away from the Post Office. The problem is that I'm seriously considering keeping it and ordering the Bootlegger as well.

I would like some input, though, since you folks are Subject matter experts. How does this look? Is it the right jacket for my frame? Any input would be great.

Edit: No idea why they're all sideways. My apologies.

I think for a highwayman it fits very well. You could maybe size down for a trimmer fit, but you look comfortable in that one (and I think this is how the jacket is intended). How do you like your leather jackets to fit?

I like them a bit fitted, but I generally need them to be able to zip over my pistol. I never looked twice at the Highwayman on the site, but I really like this damn thing.

It looks fine to me, just needs an inititial break in. I’d guess that a more knowledgable member would be able to chime in on the non-paralell zip effect on the unzipped shot. I think it just needs a little time worn. Otherwise, ace. Beautiful sky there.

If you have the wherewithal for both and you like this one, keep it. It fits you how I would suggest a HWM should - not oversized, but still has that 'boxiness' that the design is supposed to. Do note that if you're going for a Bootlegger, it will have a sightly neater fit to the body (it's basically a 50s HB with a different front), so you might want to take that into account especially if you want to hide a cc sidearm.

I'd keep it. Get the bootlegger next year, in black, and you'll have both black and brown for versatility

Thanks so much for the feedback! I really appreciate it. As much as I loved the Aero A2 I had, this is just an order of magnitude cooler. I'm going to see if they'll let me keep it.

I'm torn, on one hand it looks great, on the other hand i can't help but think you might fit one size smaller even better.
Do you have the bottom adjusters tight?

I like it. I also like the Aero A-2 that you had. :)

To me the sleeves are a bit baggy on you. Other than that, it's a good looking highwayman. Pretty certain that Carrie will sell the fit jacket to you directly, plus you get the added bonus of no wait & partially broken in.

I agree with others, if you have it and will wear it there, keep it and order up the BL next go-around. Nice jackets, really can't go wrong! :)

I don’t think this will be a problem, it’s not the first time someone has fallen in love with their fit jacket!
Regarding fit, I agree that it fits like a Highwayman should. This was my first Aero as well and I moved it along because I wanted something with a trimmer fit. Sometimes I wish I’d kept however, it was some of the nicest brown CXL steerhide I’ve ever seen.
I’d say this one’s a keeper!
