Hi folks,
Since a while I’m looking with envy in this forum thinking I should get a proper leather jacket.
Lately Aero had 25% discount on their stock jackets so I couldn’t resist anymore
The information in this forum about style, leather and sizing was really a great help for me, so I thought I will post some infos here to help other beginners to find their right jacket and for the pros to comment.
I bought a blue label everyman size 38 in black cfqhh it’s a blue label due to some grain mismatch but this doesn’t bother me at all. With the discount this jacket was 520USD. The café racer is a trainee size 38 in cordovan cfqhh. There are some stitching wobbles and some difference in color matching. The whole jacket is on the brighter side of the cordovan shade with some panels in a darker shade. Again this doesn’t bother me at all but it’s a bit big on me on the shoulder and upper arms. With the discount this jacket was 468USD.
I would really love to keep both of them, but I’m unsure about the café racer. I think it’s borderline not acceptable as it is in upper back and shoulder area. Do you think the look will I improve with wear or will it look worse after it is broken in?
The sleeves are on the shorter side for both jackets, do I have to worry they will get too short with some creases?
My measurements are:
5ft 8
155lbs
Chest: 38.5”
Waist: 31”
Hip: 33”
Measurements for the cafe racer are:
Pit to pit 21.25”
Sleeve 24.25”
Back 24.25”
Shoulder 18”
Bottom hem 17.5”
Measurements for the everyman are:
Pit to pit: 19.75”
Sleeve 24.5”
Back 24”
Shoulder 16.5”
Bottom hem 19.5”
