Aero ebay frustrations

Thats Because

They are a start up company with a better quality product and until the word is out, it is better to have them tied to another name that has been around. And since they have the better designers and machinists, it will all play out in the long run. and of course much better customer service. This site is moderated for agents within Aero anyways so you wont see this post for long.

Your a True Blow hard anyways.. sir.

Oh, good way to make friends, influence people, and sell jackets lol. Ciao. Sadly for you (them), your claims of superiority fall short. I have an idea - why not post ALL of the stories from the Aero days so potential buyers know the whole scoop? You cherry picked the history.

Friends

It is Absolutely Clear that this little group is bias towards Aero. People have jumped to many Conclusions and Unless someone has True evidence, hear say is just that. I have been in the industry for many Years and worked start up with Willis and Geiger and Ralph Lauren and took many designs from my personal collection of original jackets dating from the early 1900's. All of these companies are copying previous designs and making small changes, it is hard to have an original design that does not have its essence from the past some where. That said I am talking about pure construction, attention to detail etc. Most of the companies right now source hides from some of the same places.. so it has more to do with quality. I have owned many jackets from most manufacturers, Lost worlds, never once had any flaws in construction, stitching, or hides. Aero, Many faults in hides, marred or scratched leather etc, Differences in quality from jacket to jacket. So far with Alexander leathers, The quality has been spot on, The machinist they have are doing an incredible job, Some hides have not been perfect, but its expected with some of the first runs and from new sources. The point to all of this is I welcome anyone to the challenge of putting an Aero next to an AL and if you truthfully think an Aero is superior and show me why, I will offer a free pair of brand new Alden cigar shell cordovan Indy boots.

I have been outfitting my clientele for over 20 plus years and the reason they come back year after year is they trust my judgment. Aero makes a nice jacket, But Al and some other makers make them just as well and with the same or superior hides. All I ask is people make a fair judgment, try one in person before making any judgment. It only makes sense. Ignore the bias on the group and go with the designs that catch your eye, gets that lust going for a new prize.

I am here to be honest and up front, not kiss peoples asses and make the wrong kind of friends. I have an established clientele of over 20 years that come back year after year, That doesnt happen if you do not treat people right.

If you are on the west, east coast or chicago, I would be happy to meet up with anyone. I usually travel with old Ghurka Steamer trunks full of goodies, jackets, Boots, vintage alligator Hermes briefcases, Vintage Bridle leather bags, Horween shell cordovan wallets. I love browsers, even if you just want to go through check things out and try things on.

Just shoot me an Email.

And that is the entire problem Sir, Stories from the past have no bearing on the quality of the merchandise that is being made right now. Thats what is important, People seem to dwell on making up drama, Lets just be adults and let the products speak for themselves. I know for a fact, Plenty of other companies have superior quality, customer service and definitely turn around time then Aero does.

You remind me of some of those testifying at the recent congressional hearings. "Don't look back there at what happened in the past".... "Look over here at this shiny thing". One even shouted "WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE"! Same ethics.
It's the only reason you bother with 'this little biased group'.
Some of us don't care about who you've outfitted..just who you claim to be...or even what you recommend. I think it is more than obvious to some of us just what you really are.

the problem with the open bias on these pages is that the actual problem (whatever that may be and assuming that there in fact actually is a real one) is not put out there. So we've got received wisdom based on things that people 'know' but aren't willing to talk about publicly.

Personally, what kind of tool would I have to be to heed such warnings from anonymous strangers based on a received wisdom that has not ever once been qualified?

I got no problem with AL cos the jackets are good. What else should I be worried about? Anyone wanna actually come out here and say it? Of course they don't, this is one tired out loop

But if not then why should I or anyone else believe that there is a reasonable cause for concern? Looking in it all looks very catty - you know what I mean - exactly the type of thing that Lost Worlds' Stu condemns this place for.

Personally, I find it difficult to envisage a situation whereby I would feel comfortable launching attacks, direct, indirect, personal and otherwise on the livelihoods of others. For me that's too much; it crosses a line. As a man I take that type of thing very seriously.

And before anyone tells me 'there's a court case coming and it'll all come out then' yes I know that! I'm sick of hearing that stock delivery. What I also know is that TFL members are not the judge jury & executioner. So until that's done and dusted why don't you all save the snide catty sniping for PMing between you lot only (perhaps you could create a group for it?) cos frankly for fully grown men this type of thing is unbecoming. It's also a bad advert for the TFL

Directly above the center of the Earth.
Drifter, you may be wondering about the rough ride you are beng given; there is a back history. A while ago there was a Mark Moyle, who traded as Aero USA with the tacit aproval of the the Aero management. He vanished leaving a string of unfulfilled orders, leading to the current Aero management stepping back in. While I would never imply you are anything like that, a lot of people will treat you with suspicion until you prove your bona fides, especialy considering your low post count and recent arrival here.

Nothing about being an AL rep on eBay (and elsewhere?) and coming in here pretending to be "impartial" is in the least trustworthy Sir. I could care less how many people you've served or duped over the years. It matters not as your ways were easy to spot and it took all of five minutes to pick this out between posting here and eBay. Your history of less than perfect Aero jackets is telling. Mainly because your experiences MUST have been with the current AL crew, not the current Aero crew. So yes, the past does matter. There is no bias on this board or VLJ - each has a group of people that favor makers for what they perceive as their ideal jackets. Good Wear and ELC get raves on VLJ. Aero, not so much. The other issue was with the obvious new folks all coming in here proclaiming AL to be the best thing since sliced and dyed horse hide. Those who have been here a while can usually weed out the bull pretty quickly. And yes, there's that pesky thing winding it's way through the legal system. People aren't talking about it (Schitzo) because it's in fact in progress and we should wait to see how it all goes down.

I'll put it out here right now Schitz. I PM'd YOU a while back saying that if you were getting ready to spend hard earned money on an AL jacket to be on the lookout. I stated that I had heard there were some issues and thought - even though I'm just an ANONYMOUS STRANGER - I thought I'd offer that to you for your consideration as I saw MANY folks here get screwed by Aero USA (MM). If you think that's crap, so be it. I didn't post it in the forums telling people to avoid AL - I thought I'd just try and help. Well, I'm glad you got your jacket(s). I'm glad you're happy. But don't think calling me out here will end in some PM. You asked, you got it.All I know is that back in the day when some of us gave rave reviews to Aero USA and MM, we were accused of being "shills" when the Aero USA thing went down. Even though we were happy - those that got screwed thought it was odd some of us hadn't been. No more of that. I state my experiences here. I don't care who likes them; agrees with them; or otherwise.

Butte, no one is calling YOU out. Yep, you did shoot me that PM and of course I knew it was in good faith. As i recall I thanked you for the intent at the time. That was a nice thing to do, I appreciated it, end of

But what I don't get is how you can make a comment like you did earlier on in this thread where you said AL are a p**s poor imitation who'll only be around for a little while - or words to that effect. My point is there is a rumour mill on here that operates behind the scenes and even though I doubt you're an instigator, as I think is increasingly apparent you are it would seem a part of the chain.

So here's the knitty gritty. Something went down at Aero and 11 of 19 employees left to join AL. FTR, Horween's position in this mess is anything but transparent. Me, I was 500 miles away so I am, I'll happily admit, completely in the dark. You, given your location, I would have thought are in the same boat. Yet the 'p**s poor' comment makes it clear you have taken up a very strong position indeed.

I presume you've never visited AL's premises or handled one of their jackets so how could you possibly come out with such a comment? Given the number of livelihoods on the line here if AL were to go under, as some seem to hope will happen, I don't think it's a laughing matter.

So I'll ask, can you please explain it? Alternatively, if upon reflection you agree it was a bit too much perhaps you'd prefer to retract it

Well, people paid for stuff that wasnt genuinly what they paid for....thats enough to make customers sceptical.

Ignore all the rumours, both the MM story and the end of the old Aero staff - people got "screwed".

I personaly have had only good experience with Aero and all my jackets are bought from Will and Amanda, I have had nothing fishy going on so I should be happy. In fact I have been more "weierdly" handled by the new staff. But when it comes down to it, the old crew lied, the new crew doesnt - what is more important when sinking $1000 into a jacket? You decide.

Personally its gonna take time before I feel fully comfortable with either.
