Let's see some photos of these being worn. I've only come across a handful. Specifically interested in how the back multi-panel design drapes while its worn.

Anyone have a Dustbowl in goat? I might be looking into that.

Thanks Sloan. Your's was one of the threads I already looked through as it had great photos! I would guess the shinki horse might drape similar to goat as its a lighter hide? Aero had goat dustbowl size 40 for sale but i missed it. Usually need 19"shoulder, 22.5 pit, 25-26 back. I might ask them their opinion on deleting that 3" front waist panel from the jacket and have it equal length front/back.

Yup, it's of comparable weight. As far as the mod goes, I'm pretty sure Aero won't delete the three-inch panel. It's part of the design - a close cousin of the 30s half-belt - and it won't sit the same or look as good if you knock that out, it's part of the jacket's balance.[huh]

I'm waiting on a answer from them. Hmm, maybe a Dustbowl Back with Pioneer Front??

If only it were that simple! I really like the three panel back design or just an open back plain back. However, I strongly prefer the front of the jacket when it's cut even across the bottom. Plus I believe the Dustbowl is a tad bit trimmer fitting than Pioneer correct?

Sloan. I already own an aero 50s HB in black tumbled fqhh which is probably why I have this idea

Thanks robinray. Now I can see why deleting that bottom waist panel would look off. The front would be way to plain. I guess it works on the pioneer due to the raised front yoke vs flatstitched seam

That's what makes this site a great resource to jacket lovers. The voicing of ideas which when read back out loud, with other's opinions and experience can make the brain go Ah yea, now I see it. Since finding this site a few months back, I went one from one crappy jacket to now two quality ones, with a third in the pre-order stages! Addictive

This new coat is meant to be a bit more business casual friendly. Something I can wear to the office on Fridays with dark brown red wings. Trying to keep it as clean/simple/casual as possible. Sometimes I think the mult panels might be too busy but other times the plain back is too empty. What would you gents suggest?

Dustbowl or Hercules all the way... I think the Sunburst back is a wee bit too busy IMO

For business casual/friendly, the Maxwell would be nice. IMO, the buttons really dress it up.

I was just about to mention the Maxwell, but you beat me to the punch. The buttons really do dress up a jacket quite a bit more than a zipper. Strongly consider going through Insurrection.
